Scorpion Recommended timing and PWM
Motor Timing 5deg to 15deg
Drive Frequency 8kHz

Timing will be something you need to adjust a little at a time until you get good performance out of the motor. Start at 5 degrees and work up as needed.

For PWM, it may be advisable to calculate PWM yourself for your application as it may differ slightly.

PWM = Nominal Voltage * Motor Kv * Motor pole count / 20

51.8 * 450 * 10 / 20 = 11.6 KHz . so 11KHz or 12KHz will probably be where you set your PWM. Even though Scorpion states 8KHz as spec.

There is no way of telling the settings apart from experimenting.

Timing:

Higher value will provide more power but the motor will heat up. To much of timing and the motor will not run smooth.

PWM:

Higher value will provide smoother running of the engine and beter power management from the ESC but the ESC will heat up.

Scorp will Always recommend 8kHz as that is the only PWM there ESC's will run.

Also, timing numbers are not the same for different ESC manufacturers as they detect the motor position differently and calculate the angle differently...

All in all, I would set the PWM as high as possible and check the ESC temps and adjust from there. Timing I would start somewhere in the middle and check for sufficient power delivery and proper motor temps and adjust from there.

Only thing that can go wrong here is heat build up, so keep checking the temps and go from there.

I always ran 5 degrees. Plenty of power, ran cool and good flight times. I stuck with 8Khz for PWM as I was using Scorpion esc that only offered 8.
