Default Noob Motor & Esc Questions

Please Can someone explain to me or point me to a resource to explain the KV (rpm/v) and how that relates to head speed, battery selection, esc selection and overall performance.

I know nothing about Electricity

I was in the same boat about a month or so. YouTube has a lot of good info. The Chanel flight test covers a lot of this stuff and there's another Chanel, I'll see if I can dig it up and post a link when I get home. I would recommend watching lots of vids on YouTube. Seems complicated at first but the more you watch the more it sticks.

Edit, I love this guys vids. Good channel with good info.

Don't ignore the amp or watt rating of a motor. KV is just the speed with no load.

+1
When selecting a esc check the continuous and peak/burst amp ratings for your motor and get a esc with the same or preferably a little higher amp rating. Although that has nothing to do with calculating headspeed
