Default 700-800 class 3D smack batteries ??

So everyone has seen Tareq tearing it up with a Goblin..

Now Goblin kits and XXTREME kits are actually being delivered.

So what batteries are people going use for these monsters?

I made a comment about 65C Thunderpower and was shot down being told that Gens Ace is a much better deal. Of course Gens Ace's 60C batteries aren't here yet either, so we don't know how much of a better deal they will actually be.

Right now the "only" Gens Ace battery that might be used in these helis is the 30C 5300mah 6S battery.

My thoughts are that for 700-800 series helis that you really need a range of battery mah/weight options in the 6s-7s battery range with a pretty high C rating or all those little batteries will end up puffing....

So what are you guys planning on using to power your new Monster helis with?

Well I guess all those Goblins and XXTREME's are just going to be ornamental if no one can find batteries for them.

To me a smack heli drains the batteries in the 3- 3:30 minute range. Thunder power 65'c are the only battery that can do that for 50+ cycles in 100 degree weather. I've killed every nano tech/ turnigy/ thunderpower lower C rated batteries I've had over the last few years in less than 25 hard flights. I just got a set of gensace to try and I hope they live up to the hype but so far the tp 65c have been worth every penny.

You can always run a pair of 7S batteries. There are 14S ESC's available.

Run 2 7S 65C 5000Mah Thunder powers for a 14S setup in my XXtreme.

Gives me about 6 - 7 minutes of hard sport flying or 4 minutes of hard smack on the XXtreme while putting back ~70%

That's pretty much what I've heard in the TDR forum with the guys who are making speed runs and really torturing their batteries. 100% throttle and see how fast it goes.

I'm hoping they ( Thunder Powers ) live up to everything I've heard.
I'm going to abuse this pair pretty well and if they hold up well there will be many more coming

I really like their long pack option since it puts all the wiring up front. (See second picture). nd yes the motor mount is upside down in that picture. I fixed that.
This makes for really simple short runs of wire and just shrink wrap them together and your are done.

So do you get them replaced by TP once they're done after 25 flights? Technically they guarantee the batteries to perform for 2 years.

That's what I expected to see.

I think a lot of people are thinking they can put cheap batteries on a smack 3D 700-800 class heli and actually have the batteries survive. My guess is that they will be sobbing in their Puffs Plus Batteries.
