Default iCharger Parallel charging

Hello.

Just ordered an iCharger 306B and a parallel charging board from Progressive RC. Does the iCharger have a way to know how much have you put into each individual Lipo after parallel charging them? I have never parallel charged my Lipos before.

Thanks,

Javier

If you hooked up six 5000mah packs the charger simply sees is as 1 single 30,000mah pack. It will only tell you the total put in. Assuming you are charging packs of the same capacity.. you just divide the total mah put in my six.

The only way to find out what went into each pack is divide you total mAh by the number of pack you just charged.

Thumbs up Question

Just looking for some Clarification as I too have the 306B from ProgressiveRC.

So when I initially connect the 6 5000mAh Lipo's to the parallel charging board, do I have to manually 'input' 30,000mAh into the iCharger or does the 306B automatically determine total mAh prior to depressing the start button?

I'm searching through the Threads and have read the Lipo charging section of the manual and just want some solid advice from other HeliFreaks, Thanks!

You need to input the charge rate you want to do in AMPS not mAh.
So 6 X 5 = 30.

The charger doesn't know or care how big the packs are, only what current to charge at. Set that as if you had 1 big back (so 30A is a 1C charge). The Charger will tell you the total mAh supplied to the pack if you divide by 6 you get an approximate value for the amount put back into the packs.

You do need to go into the menus and set the "Capacity Cut-Off" mah value. Look for it on page 10 of the manual. If you don't set this value the charger will shut down very early, I believe the default value is 5000 mah.

I wouldn't disable the 120 min time limit, and would increase the capacity mah to 30,000 mah if you plan on parallel charging six 6S 5000 mah batteries.
