I haven't noticed that on mine. The X7 tail is the most slop free tail of any of my machines. In fact mine has no slop at all. Is the slider bushing and the guide wheel you're talking about?

Default tail

That's strange mine is the worst of my machines and the weird part is I can't tell where the play is coming from. I tried to post a video but it wont let me. If anybody knows how to post a video on here please let me know. As far as the play, when you twist the blades the pushrod goes side to side a good 1/16 of an inch.

You mean the long tail pushrod? Maybe you need to put the guide farther back? To post a video upload it to youtube and use the hyperlink (world with the chain link icon) and paste the link.

i noticed some play on my pitch slider a while ago too. it turned out to be the slider assembly needed to be tightened. the copper slider needs to be locktite and tightened up or it will loosen up. it uses reverse threads and is very soft copper so be careful not to strip it. i ruined my first one by first rounding the flat spots used to tighten it then ovaling it by trying to tighten it off the shaft.

I've noticed similar play on 3 machines (2 are mine) after numerous flights, and it turned out to be the black arm that attaches to the fork via two M1.5 screws. I cleaned them off and reapplied red locktite.

Like Matt said, this thing has to be the most slop-free tail I've ever seen.

Thanks Rob. That was it the black control arm loosened which i thought I checked but must have only checked one of the two. I don't know why it was loose it had a good amount of locktite on it. For some reason this helicopter keeps loosening bolts I've had frame bolts that fell out, tail control arm loosen, tail support rods and main blade arm bolts. For some reason I've had terrible luck with this Heli. Love the way it flies but I wish it would quit falling apart.

That's why they put red thread lock in the kit. It keeps screws from loosening.

Default yeah never used red before

I've never used red loctite on any of my helicopters before and never had any issues, luckily I guess. To those of you who have the v-bars how is the vibration log on this helicopter compared to other helicopters?

Vibrations are good on mine.

I always use red loctite on fittings you don't have to remove during routine maintenance. I also use red loctite on swash balls, pitch balls, tail control balls, and the pinion set screws.

I will also say, not all Blue loctite is made the same. I have had great success with the great plains brand blue loctite.

Never ever use red loctite on any of the frame bolts. They will not come out and you'll be stuck with stripped hex heads. My buddy made that mistake with his X5 build! I really wish the frame bolts used 2.5mm hex heads. I actually substitute the most commonly used bolts like the bottom bolts used for the tail boom and those around the motor mount. I did this on my X5's as well.

You could use red loctite if you want on the tail control arm. It will be permanent though so get it set perfect or you will have to throw it away. This is pretty common practice on V90, V50, and 550. The tail assembly would bind if you over tightened the little bolts on the slider, hence they suggest using red loctite. It actually works really well when done right. My 550 tail must of had 500+ flights and was butter smooth never once needing any attention.
