Lost tail in flight
I had the ball strip out the plastic slider, after doing some tick toc .I notice the Heli tail start wagging a little and then no tail control. The ball came off but some how the pitch slide brace the tail and keep it there until I landed. I guess my luck was at 100% today.
I really don't like this design for a 700 size heli, this plastic part should be Aluminum.

Good save!
I'll stick with my v1 tail.

ive never seen that happen. I wonder if it slowly backed out over a few flights.

I better check mine. I had binding issues when new and I sanded the bottom of the ball as well as other things trying to smooth the tail. It is fine now however I have never been able to tighten the ball all the way since then.

Thanks for sharing. Incredible photos! Will be watching mine periodically. Never imagined this happening.
Are those KBDD 104's?

By the look of your photo you have crashed before. Could this have been overlooked? My last crash resulted in the screw being pulled out a couple threads so I replaced it.

It surely had been overlooked, over tightened etc.
I have had 800 flights with mine with no issues. 5 other 7hv owners here with no issues. This is not a design flaw... Sorry

+1, over 1000 flights here with some good crashes in between. No issues for me. I'd say you were pretty lucky there OP, could've been a bad one. Last crash with my 6U I really hammered it in, I did break the standoff the screw treads into right off so obviously I am replacing the slider sleeve. For sure will check this area more closely post crash in the future.

I did had my kontronik 120HV cut off and had to auto, on landing hit the stock tail blade and break it, I look at it after putting on those KBDD 112. I guess I got that broken on that auto.
