Rail vs Rapid

Hello all,

i'm currently looking at the new set of blades for my helis and the decision has come down to these two blades.

Is there any reason why i should or should not buy any of these two?

Both are good blades. The rails are much heavier and will be more stable but have slower flip and roll rates. The rapids are very lightweight and give you a faster cyclic. So it depends on what style of flying you prefer.

you can combat the heavier blades with strong fast servos and the right setup to have fast cyclic, and also stable FFF.

I use Rails a lot. For me they are my favorites. I'm not familiar with Rapids though.

Having stronger servos does not make rail blades faster on cyclic than Ms composite. The rails can have reasonably fast cyclic rates but will consume a lot more power than Ms composite blades. And the ms composite will still be faster overall.

I went from Rail 626's running 2300rpms on my Goblin 630comp with 12 degrees of pitch to running 660mm Rapids at 2150rpms and 11 degrees of pitch. The helicopter is all around better. I literally touched nothing else in fbl settings. Because of the wide chord and slightly longer I dropped rpms to retain the same flight time. It's always fun to try new blades.

The rails are very quiet. And the heli seemed more stable in fast forward flight.

I have not tried Rails but MS Composit was significantly faster on the cyclics than my edge.

as many have said , the MS rapids are lighter blades more bite and I think would be very good for hard 3D , the Rails are more stable , can handle very fast flight , all round great blades.

I can't speak for the Rapids as I have never tried them, they are not freely available here, but the Rails are and they hands down beat stock and Edge Blades for my flying style. Just wish Matt would make them in 205 size for my 250 as well. I'm hoping that with the new Oxy2 on its way that perhaps just a size is going to be released.

I have flown the 660 Rapids lots and I have also owned and flown Rails in 516,606,626,696,716 and 766 sizes. The Rapids fly very well ,I was always waiting for the plug to come out of the blade end (never did) . I just find that the Rails do everything so well and there is nothing that is bad about them at all. I feel they are one of the best all around blades out there.
