Default Logo 550 SX vs KDS Agile 5.5

I have a Goblin 380 and a Logo 400SE but looking for a third bigger bird.
I like both, the Logo 550 SX and the KDS Agile 5.5
Price is almost the same, and spares no much differences. So what do you think? What donīt like about the Logo is you can not choose the motor, the only one that fits is the Scorpions special edition from MIkado.

You can change the Main Gear to mod1, pinion mod 1 is 6mm, and one small bearing at the bearing block to 6mm. And you there few motors are non mikado version to use.

Logo550sx all the way, lighter and proven heli.

5.5 is also good, just 6s wont able to take it so well and its very heavy. with the dual belt system hungry for lipos.

Flew both before. Logo550sx still with me. Sold the 5.5

I feel the same way with my mini protos motor.

I have no experience, but from all the research Ive done Logo all the way, however Im a big fan of "cool factor" interesting designs and engineering. thats why my fave right now is the warp 360.

The logo is a tried and true design that works amazing. but doesn't have much of an eye popping look.

The agile is very sharp and aggressive looking with lots of "modern" details

If it were me id go agile, because i think all the major brands are fantastic and there is no way i can fly them to the limits they were designed for. and i would choose looks and parts availability.

If the parts are the same... well... Id get the looker

You really have to go with your gut... which one do you REALLY want? A heli you look forward to taking out to fly is much better than the one that sits on the shelf because it doesn’t “draw” you out to fly.

Having said that, I’m sold on Logos. Years ago, before the FBL revolution really got going, I looked at the Logos as cheap, plasticy (it’s a word...), and overpriced. I bought one a few years ago used, to fix up and sell to a friend to get him back into helis. He didn’t seem to interested so I flew it... after that, I stopped asking if he wanted it. They aren’t sexy, but man to they fly great! The plastic is high quality and a lot more robust than I thought. And frankly, the parts are not all that expensive. It’s a very affordable machine to keep flying.

I only have one Logo right now, but I would love, love, love, to get my hands on a 690sx... But it will have to wait.

The other thing to consider is Mikado has been around a while and still sell parts for the 400. Mine is a 500 3d and I can still get parts for that... there are a few helis I’ve had that have come out AFTER the 500 that I can’t say the same about.

I have an agile 5.5 and love it. The machine work is like art, the parts are top notch, and the build is really easy. Mine is very smooth and quite. I had some questions and concerns with the crown gear and didn't have my gear mesh set correctly, but after calling and talking with KDS customers support they helped me and even sent me a new gear.

This Heli can be set to be very responsive and lives up to the name agile.. I am running mine on a 6s 5000mah with the stock motor and I get anywhere from 4 to 5 minutes depending on how hard I fly. I have my timer set for 5 minutes and change back and forth between head speeds and my battery comes down at 3.8 to 3.7 every time.

I did get a brighter canopy and quick release canopy mounts, but this Heli doesn't need any upgrades. I too was looking at the same two helis, and I believe theses two helis are the best choices for the 550 size to date on 6s 5000mah bat. I was able to catch a sale and thats what made my mind up.

Hope this helps.

OK it is decided. I have already my Logo 400SE and love it so much that I have decided to buy another one, the great Logo 550SX.

two more motors that should be a straight drop in fit for the logo 550sx are the xnova 4025-1120kv-1.5y 5mm-32mm shaft c, and also the kde 600xf-1100-gs 5mm edition.

I think you made the right choice.

In addition, IMHO, the 550 flies even better than the 400SE.
