Yes I could have moved it a bit further down but I did not like the look. May be I did it wrong but nothing looked right to my eyes, I like the final result anyway so I am pleased.

Thanks Aziz
And Danny. Now to wait for next summer. This is one bird I am looking forward to try. Still one extra black decals that I am not really using, the last black one on top. I have to admit that the top is missing something but the one decals does not fit any way I try it. I will have to find something else. Sponsoring anyone

Mystery solved it is the carbon canopy for the 550 that I received. I finally looked in my Triabolo box and found that I had the original black "normal" Canopy.
Has you can see it is much bigger compared to the spare Carbon canopy I ordered just in case. I had assumed, without thinking, that since it was the only one on the site that it was for the 700. To my defense, no indication as such on the web site. Still I am glad I did not see this before, I like the carbon canopy look much better than the "normal" black. The carbon canopy really does not look under size to my eyes anyway so it will stay that way. One thing for sure it will be unique.

I hope you didn't make the same mistake with the boom, blades, servos, motor, or ESC! |

Just got back from the field, got about 6 flights in on the Triabolo. I also flew my Diabolo 550 and TDR. About 12 flights all together and then it started to get windy.
I tried some new blades just to experiment. DH 711 three blade set. I have to say they did not feel very different from the NHP 690s. They were a little bit more floaty, but the collective and cyclic feels were very similar. Power consumption did go up a little though and I was averaging about 20 - 30 seconds shorter flights. I had no complaints about the NHP so I think I will stick with them given the slight edge on power consumption. My only issue currently is my roll rate is not as fast as I would like it to be. This is probably due to the 3 Digi not getting the cyclic throw it needs (It needs 10 degrees and I can only get 9 with my current horns). Slightly longer horns are on the way though so I am hoping when installed I will be able to get throws needed and improve that roll rate.

Hi Aziz,
Congratulations on de maiden! You sure the elevator servo with the new mounting blocks use 2 scews and not 1 and a locknut on the other side? Thnx Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G920F met Tapatalk

Aziz although I have not tried my Triabolo yet in the air, I had to increase the aileron rate on my BavarianDemon to 93% to get 9.5 degrees which is a very high setting compared to all my other helicopters. Although the BD does not require to reach 10 degrees I am wondering if it will affect harmony of input. Longer arms might be good. The funny thing is that the elevator rate is smack within normal, compared to other helicopters, at 75%. Actually I think some of the arms that came with my MKS were longer, I will check once I get home. Which arm did you get? I really liked the modified one you used from MKS.

I jused 6 on the frame side and 8 on the servo side. Hope this is correct. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G920F met Tapatalk

Yes bullet, I got a confirmation from Gerd on this. You use bolts on either side, but there should be 8 on both the frame and servo sides.
Eric, for the 3 Digi it is recommended to have at least 10 degrees on cyclic. I was only getting 9. Others have also experienced needed longer arms with that flight controller. I will be going from 17mm to 18mm, so not a huge difference that would effect geometry, but should be enough to get me in a good range. I would suggest you evaluate it in flight to see if it's enough. If you feel it is slow then go for longer arms. Otherwise it may not be needed. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Trimmed one of my blades today so they fold. Picked the heaviest one.
My handheld belt sander just arrived and I thought it would be perfect for the job. Turned out pretty good I think: This is what I used: Made the job really easy.

Looks good Aziz. I used some CA glue on the exposed part to seal it up. Not sure if was necessary but it made things look a little better.

If you want extremely fast cyclics, the Helix 695 three blade set is totally bonkers (not so easy to find these days though). They feel very different from the NHPs, mostly I assume because they're super light. I have only taken them out once and did a few flights and it almost made me laugh out loud how quick I could do a 4 point roll. I think the word someone else used was 'crisp', they're into another realm of crisp-ness!
However, for my flying I just don't need response that fast and also they do not fold back like the NHPs. So the NHPs went back on. I find the roll rate is plenty fast, but obviously that's relative. I'm using a Spartan Vortex and it only wants to know where 8 degrees is, so I have no idea what the max cyclic throws are (the limits are set to whatever the full throws are at the swash). Quote:

Thanks Trillian, my roll rate is actually quite good now. I figured out how to get more cyclic pitch out of the 3 Digi. It turned out that the 3 Digi does cyclic servo angle correction a little differently and can limit cyclic throw. Once I switched it off I was even to get the 10 degrees (even more if i wanted). It also had no ill effects on control feel so problem solved

Made some changes on the Triabolo. Replaced the MKS X8s with a set of Futaba BLS275/276, and the Cool Kosmik with a non Cool Kosmik 200.
The X8s and Cool K are going on back on my Protos. Wanted to save a little weight with the ESC, there is 50g between them. As for the servos, the wires were a bit short on the Diabolo and tighter than I would like in some parts. I had shortened them for the Protos previously. So with he new servos I have the wiring done much better. And finally, I managed to put together a Battery RFID sensor: Battery identified |

Hi
May I know if this Tri BE has 12mm shaft? And what size spindle shaft? Same as normal Tri or thicker? Thanks. |

Main shaft is 12mm. Spindle shafts are 10mm (I think), I have never actually opened up mine. It comes pre-assembled and according to Gerd, no need to disassemble.
