Default HC3a/ AP 600esp

I have my heli mechanics dialed in perfect. NO transmitter trims needed. Position mode works perfect. After "booting up" my heli I push the HC3a button until it turns green. (I do this for zero pitch learning). I let it do its "registration" and take off. I now put the transmitter into horizontal mode. After about 7-8 seconds of hovering at about 30 feet I give the autotrim signal. I turn the signal back off and I am suppose to be back in a nice hover.
I never return to a nice hover. I usually am rolling right or forward. I always use the computer to zero out any autotrim roll or elevator that is left over before I start as well.
Again, without HC3a the heli is dialed in. Position mode is perfect.

Not sure whats going on here but.
I assume autotrim is working, LED turns red when the switch is operated.
If you are useing auto trim you should never press the set button, this is only used for initial set up and doing this may be giving you problems. Try going though the set up procidure again and when done do not press the set button again.
In horizontal mode the heli will not sit in a hover it will drift like any heli but will stay level.
Just in case you dont know, autotrim takes an average of your stick movements and trims the swash to that position, so if for example you were hovering in a side wind and you hit autotrim the swash would tip to compensate because that is what you are doing with the stick. If the wind then changed direction or you turned the heli around trim would be out so you would need to trim again.
You can check that autotrim is working by connecting to the programme and note the internal autotrim setting, hold the tx stick slightly off centre for a few seconds and operate autotrim, the value should change and the swash move to the new position.
Hope this helps.

Thank you. When I activate autotrim the led flashes red. On the bench with my laptop running HC I can change the autotrim settings (aileron and elevator) by turning on horzontal mode, deflecting the right stick and hitting the autotrim switch.
What I want to be sure about is that I am resetting the autotrim to zero before I start. This is done by zeroing out the autotrim changes/settings on the computer?
I will figure this out but I think its gonna take me a few more flights. I sure like the position mode but I'm not sure what its' use is besides checking head speed, blade tracking or just admiring the heli.
I plan on going AceOne flybarless this year but in the meantime....

There is no need to zero out AT between flights on the computer. In fact its best not to as the next time you fly and use AT you are likely to get some movement of the swash and in particular the tail gyro, (if you use the internal one).
By the way AT works in any mode, you don't have to be in HOR mode to activate it.
