What are you using for grease on the replacement V2 blade grip thrust bearings?

Tri-flow grease; it's ultra sticky and doesn't seem to sling out as quickly as others.

I just purchased 'The Greaser' from Pete and am trying his red colored hi temp, hi viscosity lithium grease that comes with it. He swears by it.

He has claimed that even the Teflon (meaning Tri flow and others) are better than most, but they too come out of the bearing too fast. He says this stuff has some serious staying power. Plus the makers of the synthetic teflon manufacturers kinda blew Him off on the testing of small bearings, as they have done no testing on smaller bearings that could be more apt to skid on finer solids (teflon) than the larger ones for which it was supposedly designed for.

He really doesn't profit much if any selling the grease that comes with the greaser, so I thought I would try it.

I LOVE THE GREASER! btw. talk about flushing out the old and in with the new

You can see it ooze out of the race on sealed bearings like a playdough machine, and when I see all fresh, clean, red grease; I know it is packed well. Takes only seconds, too. I will never go back to the old method.

how's the greaser work on smaller bearings? I've always read about it with the larger ships but didn't know it might work on the 450 size stuff.

It will do all but the smallest bearings on the 450; they will just drop through the hole.

I use a C.A. hyperdermic applicator on those; just center the fine tip on the race, then push real hard. If You have it tilted a little, it will side squirt; so adjust. You will see it ooze from the other side.

That or use the thumb squeeze method.

I just redid my main grip bearings (V1) and it will do the small ones closest to the head. IIRC they are 3x6x2.5, so it will grease any bearing that is at least 6mm outside diameter.

Super-Lube Dri-Film aerosol. Has an extremely low friction and leaves no residue, also repels dust and grime. This stuff is the bomb. Off topic, they also make a great heat sink compound.

Not to change the thread, but since the Greaser has come up! I found a use for the tail idler pulley. The Greaser has an opening larger than the Trex's smallest bearings (5mm) as Goldslinger stated. Remove the bearing ( 2X5X2.5) from the idler pulley and use the pulley as the seat for the small bearings in the Greaser. Works well.
