Default 3GX power

I'm planning my next build, terrible hobby , and already have a 3GX.
My question is do I need a extra lipo/battery to power the 3GX unit if I use a Futaba 7ch receiver?
Reason I ask is cause I want a 450 size fbl and there wouldn't be any room for an extra battery. I will be using a external BEC, have 2 Dimension Engineer Sport Becs and love em.

Any ideas anyone?

Ok the BEC would be for peace of mind and I plan to use MKS DS95's....
But do you have an or need an extra battery to power the 3GX? Or can you somehow hook it up to the "normal" lipo?

Nice bird btw!

I happened to run JUST the 3GX for 5 minutes the other day, with TH on and the heli sitting still. As I recall, the charger put < 20 -- I'm thinking it was < 10 -- mAH back into the battery. So it's pulling hardly any power at all.

Ok thx guys, great to hear! Was worried a little bit about the unit needing a separate lipo/battery to work.
