My first Gpro Bluetooth module would not connect. I tried it on 2 diiferent Android phones and 2 different IPhones. I also attempted to connect with a second functioning Gpro unit, no avail. Finally contacted Align, they swapped it out for another Bluetooth module. This one works great, just plug in, pair, and go.

Very handy for little tweeks at the flying field!

My phone is on 4.4.2 (Android), I don't know if that makes a difference. My original Bluetooth module wouldn't connect with any device I tried. It sounds as though your Bluetooth module will at least work.
When I was experiencing issues with mine, I just tried it with wife's, kids, or friends smart phones for
diagnostic purposes.

Someone once said trying a different passcode may help as some combinations of numbers may not work?

I believe you must use USB cable and computer to edit passcode..... (not sure??)

4.4.2 was an operating system update offered for my Samsung S3 when checking for device updates from AT&T, my cellular provider. Not from Google play store. My son's Motorola phone also has 4.4.2 version on his. I am not sure on Android incompatibilities, but I do know on IPhone you must have OS7 or later to get Gpro app to work.

Hope you get this sorted out as the phone app is very handy to use at the field with out having to lug a laptop or tablet along.

Hey Jim.

Try a different passcode mate. Using my S3 phone when I changed to my usual pincode it wouldn't connect and kept failing on connection, I programmed in another pincode and it works all ok now.
May be worth a try.

I'll give that a go Ian but i think the problem is the passkey window won't pop up when I touch on the app to connect, in my phones bluetooth setup it shows the Align BTH01 is paired but can't work out why no passkey window.

Evening Mate.

Ah, I've had this as well and just restarted my phone to fix it. Just got myself a Note 4 today, so hoping it will still work ok with the new'ish Android.

Eve Ian, tried both your suggestions but no luck, strange thing is it pairs & when ya tap on gpro app you should get the passkey pop up to enter the 4 digit but doesn't happen, works perfect on my tablet which has the same androoid firmware.

That is exactly the way my first Bluetooth module acted. It would show "paired" in the Bluetooth settings of the phone, but no passkey screen would pop up when trying to connect in Gpro app followed shortly by the Gpro app crashing. Although mine wouldn't connect to any device. I just tryed various smart phones, I did not try it on a tablet.

The replacement bluetooth module Align sent out works everytime, no hassles whatsoever.

One thing that got me with the Align GPro Bluetooth Adapter BTH01 is that I am used to going to the Settings > Bluetooth to pair devices. You don't actually do that with this unit or you end up with an "Align BTH01 is not supported" error.

I was about to send it back and write a negative review when I realized that "Align BTH01" appeared directly in the GPro app and connected flawlessly. It sure would have been nice if Align provided at least basic documentation on how this thing works!

Hi,

I seem to be having a lot of issues with BTH01 module. I'm on my second one and both have paired with my iPhone on iOS 9.2 and worked first time. However after 5-6 minutes the connection is lost and then no matter how many times I turn the GPro off and on and reconnect the module it never reappears in the GPro app connection box. Strangely the little green light on the module doesn't flash any more either.
For info my Gpro is running at 8.4v which is supported by the module.
Any ideas, just bad luck with failed modules our am I missing something?
