Default Align 700 nitro tank plugs and alternatives

Since they're not listed, does anybody know the 700N tank hole/plug sizes?

I need to replace the plugs. I do not want to spend $20 on a tank I don't need.

There's a '600N fuel tank accessory kit" but I'm not sure the grommet is the same size. Do TSA tank plugs/grommets or synergy ones fit?

TSA plug I think you need to drill out the hole to fit. Synergy plug I think is a 12mm or so hole.

Unless some great miracle convinces Ron otherwise, it never will be back in stock.

Ron's bailing and selling off old stock until the end of the year.

I've handed synergy grommets and stoppers to guys running 700Ns. They've told me they work, but I've personally never tried.

That's odd, I just got two of them.

Ron said he is going to keep selling these for a while.

This was copied from Ron's web page;
This item will always have a final cost of $10 because it is an item that I will offer even after I close the store. So during sales, the price will be higher, but, with the discount, your final price should be $10.

I only make a few of these at a time, so get on the waitlist.

Stuff like that is why I'm going to be really bummed when he exits the market. Crazy dedicated and Ron always has/had the weird nitro things.

To be fair, for one day it was back in stock but I was not home and couldn't order. By the time I got home from work they were all gone. I can't wait again because I need my machine put together by the fall mowdown

I use these things on my gassers so know the story.
The only way I know to get the grommet is to buy the HN6083 tank accessories bag. As others have mentioned, its listed as a part for the 600N but fits the 700N just the same. At one point I did memasure the gromett and tried to find a replacement but had no luck.

HN6083 doesn't come with a plug but you can use the the fitting. Just put on a small piece of tubing and plug the tubing.

Lynx makes an aluminum fitting
https://www.lynxheli.com/product_inf...c34eca6f055841

Grandrc has along with some similar fittings including the tubing plug if you use one of the feedthrough fittings.

QuickUK has an actual plug but don't see anyone off hand in USA that has it in stock

Didn't know the DFC tank would fit since it's designed for narrower frames?

I'm not having plug problems at all, they're not leaking or anything- I need to change the clunk line and wanted backups in case they fell apart upon removal (also wanted to swap the clunk to the outside hold).

I've kept fuel in the tank at all times have have not had any problems with leaks yet.

I think you just need to add to the spacer on the tank to keep it from sliding, it's the same shape otherwise.

I put a dab of goop on the inside of the frame to keep it in place

An alternative(and the method I used). Puncture the center of the plug (don't drill it, the hole needs to be tight). Take an extra frame screw (old style with the wide head), put a that through the whole with the head on the inside. Place a washer and lock nut on the outside. Install the plug, tightening the lock nut causes the plug to expand and seal the hole.

ymmv.
