Re: Blades, Blades, Blades. J1S Designs Cyclone or Synergy Rail Main Blades???
I bought both Rail 716s and Cyclones when I first built my E7se. Now that I have flown the Rails on it for the last 6 months and have really gotten a good feel for the heli I switched over to the Cyclones to get a good comparison. I was astounded that at the same head speed Cyclone 695s are actually slower on cyclic input than Rail 716s! They do have similar collective feel to the 716s, though, which is amazing for a 695mm blade. I wrote a little review on them in the Synergy forum here: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=632582
Bottom line: after tuning my fbl to them they both fly phenomenally well. I think the 716s are still better for low head speed work because they are noticeably more agile, but it all comes down to personal preference. I still have the Cyclones on and will likely run them for quite a while. Now I'm really curious what Rail 696s feel like... |
