Default Msrx motor

I have an Msr that lost most of it's power so I put in the longer Msrx motor and it has amazing power. The wires are a bit short but it will fit. Twice the jam as stock almost.

Interesting outcome. I read somewhere else from someone that tried it and got no increase, he assumed the board couldn't push out the extra power. Your results partly contradict that. Maybe using too much of that extra power could fry the board though, be careful!

Or he has flown a long time with a worn out motor. And now it's new, it has awesome power again, and can't tell the difference hehe..

Ive tested the MSRX motor in the mSR as have a few others with the same results, It was actually slightly weaker due to the extra weigh as the MSRX motor is a few mm longer.

Id advise swapping the mSR motor back in and make sure it isnt just wishfull thinking, Then id go buy a new mSR motor as im almost certain yours is worn out.

The MSRX motor i used is still running storng and when tested i soldered it directly into the mSR board to get the most amps out of it.

Id gladley be wrong if you can prove in some way you are actually getting those results as i want more power desperatly in my mSR.

LoL, I may try it myself... I've got a fully stock mSR and a spankin' new mSRx motor both just waiting for an experiment... Oh and the motor in that mSR is practically new too. I just don't have a scale to measure the thrust difference (or lack thereof.)

Default msr w/ msrx motor

I too have just done this swap in addition I added a mcpx v2 tail with msr rotor, I had to go into the trim settings in my dx6i to get it to stop spinning ... I was wondering as well if this might burn up my board, but it seems like its much more powerful than my old motor. It does weigh twice as much..

I thought I read somewhere about upgrading the mosfet on the board for increasing the power to the motor but I can't find the link again. If anyone has this info please let me know
Thanks
Robert

okay so i bought a new msr motor and can now confirm it spins like a top (my old msr motor had the same responce) with the same sub trim settings rudd +100%... i put the msrx motor back in and it fly's strait as an arrow this leads me to believe this motor is indeed more powerful and a great combo with the mcpx tail as long as you use the msr rotor and a dx6i so that you can adjust the sub trim settings. also iv'e noted the battery's don't last a long getting about 4.5 to 5 min over 6 with the old motor and tail

okay after further testing I have decided the mcpx tail motor is just too powerful, so I'm going to put my msr tail motor in the mcpx tail cage and try that next...

I just installed a mcx2 motor on my msr and it works great . It is just a little stronger than the stock motor. I did not have to mess with the trim at all.

Just make sure you use the left-hand mCX2 motor, with the matching wire colors.

The other one runs the brushes backwards and will burn up quickly if reversed.
