Default Will ikon fit in a 450L?

I'm thinking of getting a 450L Dominator with the Ikon FBL. I just noticed that the Ikon has connectors on all 4 sides, and is a little bit wider than the 3GX.

3GX dimensions: 36.5 x 25.2 x 15.6 mm
Ikon dimensions: 34 x 29 x 14 mm

Will it be difficult to make the Ikon fit in the 450L and still have access to all the connectors? Will any modifications be necessary? Are there any additional setup/tuning procedures to be aware of?

Oh, and this will be my first build.

Get the Bluetooth module if it blocks the USB port. The Bluetooth module plugs in next to the rudder servo and the sat plugs into the left side (looking down at the unit wires forward)

Good advice, but I don't have a smart phone to make use of the bluetooth module.

neither do I, apple user here I got a $9 dongle from Frys and use my pc to make adjustments with it!! I have set up 3 trex 250's with ikon and you have to pull the tail servo to hook up to the usb so I ended up getting the Bluetooth module to avoid the extra work and it works great!

It shoud fit the bottom gyro mount. The frame is 33mm wide inside and the access holes on the side of the bottom gyro mount allow access to side connectors. I mounted a Spektrum AR7200BX on the bottom.

Ikon does fit the lower gyro mount. I have mine mounted with the usb port facing forward, and its pretty easy to plug in the usb through the battery bay.

And if everything else fail mount it on the side of the frame.
Now you have access to all sides.

Share your iKon 450L FBL install photos (just ordered one) not a huge fan of the 3GX works ok but when you have flown V-bars and iKon's it's simply not in the same league.....

this is how i have mine installed:
the wires are facing back and i have no access to the usb port, so i use a
bluetooth module.
here is a post pf mine from a different thread with pics:

running 1 sat receiver on the lower electronics tray.

had to shave off a little from the frame so the sat wire won't touch it and transmit vibrations to the fbl unit

esc to motor wires were left exposed so i can easily disconnect them when setting up the heli.

all in all it is a pretty easy heli to wire up neatly, way easier than the 450 pro, lots of room to run wires, and the wide frames help as well.
i am flying mine gove'd at 3250RPM and it is insanely powerful. when you tell it to go it goes fast! and shoots up in to the air like a rocket.
this is one fun little heli

I ended up placing the iKon on the underside of the gyro plate inside the frame, which worked out very well I think. The only downside to this position is that there is not much room between the iKon and bottom plate, so the Milton mod is not possible. A potential alternative would be to make an iKon sandwich like so:
-gyro mounting plate
-PU or Zeal pad
-iKon
-PU or Zeal pad
-bottom plate
I'm not sure if the pads would be over or under compressed. Just have to try it and find out I guess.

It was a bit tricky to route the wires so that I had enough service loop for easy maintenance, but I think I ended up with a pretty good layout. I can remove each component from the frame without cutting a single zip tie.

I ended up mounting mine in the standard position. I did scoot it back 1/4 of an inch though. This allowed me to fit a usb cable in under the anti rotation bracket.
