Pyro 750-50 / 750-56 amp draw differences?
I am currently building 2 Mostros. I have 2 motors and 2 ESC's. The Motors are a Pyro 750-50 and 750-56. The ESC's are Kontronik Jive 120HV and Kosmik 160 Cool. I am trying to find out if one of these motors pulls more amperage than the other. If there is a difference, I want to pair the higher drawing motor with the Kosmik 160. Both will be 12S setups.
I have been able to see the amp draw for my Pyro 800 motors that are on my Logos by using Jlog telemetry, and will have Jlogs on these as well. Once I run them I'll be able to see the actual amperage, but knowing in advance will save having to swap motors if I pair the wrong ones. Thanks for any help, Guy

Any help on this one? They both are rated at the same wattage so it seems wattage / voltage = amps, therefore they should be the same. It's the different KV that confuses me.

If they are both geared for same speed I don't think there will be any significant difference.
But the higher Kv does have lower a IR due to less turns of thicker wire and potential to produce more power and subsequently draw more current.

Thank you, that was my guess but I'm not deeply familiar with motor windings, etc. They will be the same gearing and same blades. I'll put the 560kv with the Kosik 160 then and see how it goes. I'll post back the amp draws once I get the Jlogs set up and Helis flying.
Thanks for the help, Guy

If you are gearing them the same and using Jive Vs. Kos you are going to get different HS's for sure.
I'd say go 2 teeth less on the Kos/560 to get close. You should be gearing for your desired head speeds at 80% for the Kosmik and 60% on the Jive. Unless it's a Jive Pro then you go same 80% as Kos as they share same possessors and software.

The jive is a Heli Jive 120HV, not the Pro. Seems like the more I learn the less I know. I didn't know that the ESC would change the head speed, I thought it was just a limit on the max amps running through it. So is it that more voltage, or more current will provide more power to the motor, therefore allowing it to run faster?

Alright.
The claim is the Kos/Pro is more efficient so squeezes out a lil more RPM. Not much ~50rpm difference is average I saw. Also be sure your HJ is Version 13 to allow running 14pole P750's. If not send in to Kon USA for an update.
