Default Time for New Batteries

Hey guys, I am at the point where it's probably time for some new batteries. I had one cell fail on me and the other was just about to based off of excessive IR ratings and how the cell charged in general.

I fly mainly sport / mild 3d and generally run a moderate headspeed of 1800-1950. I have looked at pulse, glacier, and revolectrix. I would prefer to keep the 4500ish range but would I really notice much of a difference between 4500s and 5000s?

Any thoughts on the topic would be great.

You talking about E7se? You will feel a difference between 4500 and 5000, more if you were a hard 3d guy. 5000 will fly longer.
Good luck

Going from 4500mah to 5000mah adds about 50g per pack. You may or may not notice a difference in agility. Increasing the HS 100 to 150rpm when using larger packs may help.

Larger packs may also be a tighter fit in some helicopters.

About the 3 brands you mentioned, I have not had a positive experience with the Revolectrix 6S 60C 4400mah packs. I had a great experience with both the Glacier 6S 45C 4400mah and the Pulse Ultra 6S 45C 4500mah packs. Of the two, I preferred the Glacier 6S 45C 4400mah packs because they came with EC5 connectors already soldered and balance plug protectors already on. The Glaciers are also less expensive.

I had very good experience with the Pulse Ultra 6S 45C 5000mah packs, but I sold them in favor for the lighter 4500mah packs. I do not have any experience with the Glacier 6S 45C 5000mah packs.

If you are upgrading batteries altogether, you may want to consider upgrading to 7S/14S packs if that's an option. Black Friday sales is less than 4 weeks away.

i used 4400 and 5000 on my e7. its light enough to fly great either way. i would up sticking with 5000s after my 4400s died. that being said im now playing with 4200s on my logo 700 vs 5000s and it flies so light with those smaller packs

I wondered myself. I spoke to some of the heli guys I know and they felt that because the increase over an 11lb ++ heli would be a small percentage that I probably wouldn't feel the difference.

I base battery capacity more on what headspeed do you want to fly your heli at and what do you do with your heli (flying style) . I like a moderate headspeed and smooth soft 3D flights so I run 4000 packs in my 700 to keep it light and the stops crisp. Like was mentioned above you can get the same feel with a higher headspeed and 5000 packs. So I will give up some flight time over the 5000 packs to have the crisp light feel of a higher headspeed at a moderate 1700 rpm. I still get 5:20sec fights on my 4000 12s sticks with 30% remaining.

Well HeliDirect had the Pulse 6s 4500 45c on sale for $99 a pop so I picked up two of them. I got them today to the best of the mailman's attempt (delivered to my neighbor when I was home..)

Soldered up some Supra X Pro S6 connectors. These batteries sit about another two inches further back on my trays because they are 3cm longer per pack. Can't really slide them any farther forward due to canopy.

CG is a bit more tail heavy compared to my old packs. Hmmm....

I really like the Revolectrix 4400 6S 60C Packs. I have 9 of them. They have performed awesome and fit in all my Helis. The Logo 600SE being the tightest fit. They are the maximum size that will fit it.

They are on sale right now for $65.60.

I have found my E5 to be heavy and I have just bought new packs, after checking the weight difference the new 4200"s are just over a 1/4 lb lighter then the 5000's there replacing, this will be a huge difference in performance and also help the flight times, pretty excited!!!

I use the Revolectrix 4400mAh 6S in all my helis. Now Revolectrix sells the graphine oxide batteries in the 4400mAh.

I am running the Revolectrix graphene 5000 70c Go packs in my 800 machine and they have been very good so far. They are a bit heavier than most 5000 packs but the big bird still feels light in the air.
