I think you have hit an ideal setup really. Low complexity, efficient and works. What more could anyone ask for! The only reason I crack on with the brushless tail is because it is beating me! (not all the time) The only thing I really liked was the variable pitch tail, which really awaits miniaturisation. ( A long wait I think).

Great work Lift .......
Thanks Dave.
You and others are doing an amazing job for the brushless tail
I thank you for introducing me to this great propeller

I take advantage of your great competence to ask you if you think that the 120SR motor can have a shortened life if it turns clock wise.
I also don't believe that the upwash downwash thing affects the performance, only just a little dubious about the way of working of the small metal brushes

I like the description of 'great competence', I will not tell my wife that, she'll never get up after rolling around the floor laughing, but thanks for that anyway!

Personally I would not worry about it at all. I have yet to see any coreless motor data that stipulates operational direction. Coreless are used in many applications, ie servos, where reversal continually takes place. Co axial helis use reversed direction etc
If I wanted to re assure myself, I would take the end cap off and look at the wiper profile. Curved and central would indicate to me that direction is not important. In powerful brushed motors, timing can be changed by offsetting, but I cant see that happening in any miniature motor.

It could be said that dragging contacts as opposed to pushing contacts will make a difference, but again there are many examples of that not being the case... servo pots etc.

Always willing to be proved wrong though!

Liftbag - so from the rear of the heli when the motor is on the left side like you have it now, you want the prop to spin CW?

Also, I find that the 120sr blade holds better than walkera also.

Yes, but nothing changes in the direction of rotation of the propeller if you mount the motor from the left or from the right side, it always spins cw observing it from the right side of the helicopter.
This is because the pitch is reversed compared to 120SR rotor that instead turns ccw.

And again, the Tri-Turbo Prop has a shiny side, while the other is matte. Looking from the right side, you have to see the shiny side.

Default Tri-turbo Fan Propeller [VIDEO]

Sorry, I did not realize that the GoPro was closed in the underwater housing, so the sounds are barely audible.

I see you moved the tail motor back to the other side. What did you realize?

Not exactly. The video I shot before swapping the motor.
Currently I am flying with the prop to the left of tail boom, and I have not found differences.

I just finished the third MCP X multi-cell (2S) with 120SR tail and Plantraco prop.
Is perfect as the other two

Just for confirmation, I rotated the motor and I put the 120SR prop, whether long or shortened: I have tail wag and rebound at the stop after ccw pirouette.
I also tried a Nine Eagles prop of the same class of 120SR with reversed pitch (like the Plantraco prop): same results

I have now completely convinced that the prop makes the difference
