Default 451 for a 251

Did not do my homework well enough, I bought a Futaba BLS 451 taking it for a tail servo which it is not. I mistakened it for the 251. Will this servo be adequat for the tail of a stretched Atom, hoping it will. Must say that I don't likely trust the 8900 anymore.

I use a 451 on the tail of my scale Seahawk 600 - it has heaps of torque and works fine for my application (and runs on 6.5V - 2s A123).

I don't know how it would go on a full 3D heli though as it is a bit slower than many current tail servos, but not much - an Align DS520 is 0.09 at 4.8V and a 451 is 0.10 at 6V.

These days the 8900 comes down very hot, even with a step-down. Lowered 6 to 5V,
its a bit better.

And I don't fly hard 3D more like "tourism".

Thanks for the info.

I know you've probably checked but could be something binding or tail grip thrust bearings reversed. A tail servo doesn't get hot for no reason. 8900 is plenty for the Atom.

Tail grips have been opened up and thoroughly checked and greased, tail rod is free, limits have been set on the tail pitch slider...
