Big event other than ircha

I want to go to a big even in summer besides ircha because I can't fund it. Prob 600 miles max from New England and no more than couple hotel nights. Any ideas? I have about $700 to spend. Thanks

You might try the Mid America fun fly.
It will probably be the largest event other than IRCHA this summer..

The OHB( Orlando Heli Blast) is the largest event next to IRCHA. It is in Orlando in December each year. They have 300 plus pilots register I believe. Don't really know how many Mid America has register each year. But Big D will put on a fun event and there will be many top pilots in attendance. Big D was just here at the Central Alabama Fly-In. We had 94 pilots, first time in past 12 years we have been below a 100. Normally were in the 120 to 160 range. But the weather forecast was a little gloomy week before event. But weather co-operated for Friday and Saturday and we had a great time.

Great event I think they had around 100 pilots last year. Nice flying site,good people &good food. Look under events on here they have a sping @ fall event .i think Bobby Watts is going to be there!!hope to see you there!

Yep, the event Mike Reed is referring to is the Heli Spring Fling at Fredericksburg Area RC Club https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=671606 Awesome event, my home club. We have many pros coming, its the first weekend in May. Another big east coast event is the Heli Extravaganza in Woodruff, SC (location known for the Joe Nall event), that is in September. The OHB in Orlando, FL (first weekend of DEC) was already mentioned.
