Default SH-2221-4240KV

Hi I purchased this with a 450 pro secondhand (I've upgraded to pro DFC) and I can't find any information on it. it looks like its in between a 2221-6 and 2221-8. I have been running it with a 150T with a v curve 71-68-65-68-71 v-curve and was going to convert to the slant gears 121 and 11T pinion. I went with such a low throttle v curve to keep the flight time up.

My flight times are right around 3.5 minutes with 3s with about 3.8 volts remaining per cell. heavy sport flying (flips loops and hard banks some inverted hovering).

does any one have info on this motor?

This is the motor that is closest to yours that I can find. I am not sure on the specs being so close though.

This motor is meant for a very hot 3s set up. If you are looking for more flight time and just flying sport, the 2221-8 is a better canidate. I am sure you arent looking to buy another motor but it may be best. You will likely gain flight time and be easier on you batteries and they may last longer.

Also check you gear mesh isnt too tight. That can rob a little flight time and wear out parts a little faster.

Ok that's what I was thinking thanks for your input. I might go with the 2221-8 any way. I really like how it flies otherwise

You might want to look at the Align 3200kv Dominator motor for 3S. They have a good balance between power and efficiency and are cheaper than the Scorpions.

So will the 460mx fit correctly in a pro frame. I was going to go that way but couldn't find much on it.

The 460MX 3200kv should fit. The can width is only a little over 1.00mm larger. The can height is shorter.

Not that it matters, but I wonder if the motor you have now is even a scorpion motor. All the motors I searched for start with HK, not SH. And with the logo ground off. Just saying maybe that is why we cant find any info for it.

I had another thought. Does it maybe say SII-2221-4240?

SII is a Scorpion line of airplane motors. crazy high Kv for an Airplane motor though.
