Default Does anyone here own both a Logo 500 and a Trex 550?

After owning my Logo for years I decided to try a Trex 550 mainly because I could get one very cheap and also because parts are so easy to get. My Problem is no matter what I do I can't get the Trex to fly or feel anything like my Logo 500. I even put a larger motor in the Trex compared to the one that is in my Logo and 553mm blades. To me the Trex just doesn't feel nimble in the air even with a high head speed. I haven't weighed them yet but I have a feeling the Trex is quite a bit heavier than the Logo so that may be the reason why. I am just curious if anyone that owns both has had the same feeling?

I have both, but I had the T-rex first. I'm playing new helicopter favorites right now with the Logo for sure and I feel that this will be the case from now on. I cannot get the T-rex to feel as nimble. I didn't think I would feel the difference in weight in the air, but I can say that the Align is a dog in comparison at least at the same headspeeds.
I will continue to fly them both, but now I have a real sense of the whine that I disliked about some Align helis.
I guess that I got used to it and that's after I really diminished the sound by going to a helical gear setup. After flying the Logo, the Align seems like a screamer again.

OK well then at least I know its not just me. I honestly think I may sell both my T550's and get a Logo 600.

Good idea especially when the Logo 500 and 600 share a lot of the same parts. I would suggest 12s 3300, VBAR GOV, Edge 603s, Robbe/Hawk/Mega Power ESC, Great servos and good lipos. It will be a BLAST!!!

I was having this exact conversation with someone earlier today. He couldn't understand why I sold my perfectly well set up and upgraded Trex 550 and kept my Logo 500SE. I said with the same components the Logo was lighter, more agile and tracked better. Overall a more enjoyable machine to fly. So the Trex was sold on.

yeah I had them both as well, not saying that other companies dont make nice helis and that goes for all helis, none of them fly like my logos.Youll love the 600.imo dont worry about waiting for the sx model the 600 3d is a perfect heli, nothing we can throw at it that it wont spit right back out.

Raydee,

Nice job shedding one of your 550's allready. That's how you sell a heli!

I actually like my Trex 500efl. The tail doesn't hold as good as the larger heli's but it does fly with a lot of spunk. The whole reason I even bought my Trex's in the first place was because there are times when my Logo is down and parts are out of stock. I hate that with a passion BUT at the same time my Logo flies so good that it is worth the wait.

The thing that kills me on the 550e:
-Can't get a good cg without adding front weight
-DFC head (controversy aside) really improves flight performance. But then 550mm blades don't fit
-Out of the box the 550e comes with 520mm blades which increase disk loading and then requires higher head speed to fly well. 550's are a huge improvement. But I want dfc too.

Waiting for either a Synergy E5 or maybe a Goblin 500 now to replace it.

I fly my 550e with 550's on a DFC head and KBDD 85.5's no problem.
As far as front weight. Put Pulse 6s 5000's on. 4oz heavier than my Voltz 5100's. CG right on.

I never got my 550 to do tic-tocs correctly. My logo 400 flies bigger and smoother IMO. I still enjoy flying my 550 though.

Hey Ron, its awesome! I have since swapped the Scorpion for a Pyro 700-45, got CF frames and swinging 621s... I have another setup on 10s Pyro 700-52 stock frames and 603s. Both fly beautiful and induce that well known pilot grin right after take-off

Tried it with 550's and. 86mm edge tail blades. Chopped my tail blades on the first aggressive maneuver. Its a no go.
