Default My 9 yr old, Enzo's 1st big heli steps. WOW!

So there is a huge milestone that every heli pilot achieves, and yesterday was a big day for my boy Enzo, he's 9. I am so proud of him I had to post it here. Here is his timelime...

1st week, mcx2.
2nd week, msr.
3rd week, mcpx.
4th week, flips and rolls.
Of course plenty of sim time inbetween.
Here we are at his 5th week and he is now hovering inverted. He flew my BL mcpx without a hitch a couple days ago. So today I told him if he flew his mcpx and my bl mcpx without crashing he could fly his Gaui X5 for the 1st time. He did not crash and I'll let the video speak for itself....

Wow

It's great you are encouraging his participation in the Hobby.

Seems like he is well disciplined, I bet his heart was pounding.

Yours too.

I am flying with my two sons so I can speak to the fact you are blessed to have your family involved in the hobby. There is nothing better in the world than to find a common ground that the family can enjoy together.

He is doing really well.

Only problem is the fact that I taught my now 13 year old how to fly a couple of years ago when I was a sport pilot. Now I am still a sport pilot and he is flying pretty doggone hard. Watch out for your ego when your son starts flying better than you after only a short time.

Thats great, very well done by your son for flying, and you for letting him! No pressure, here's 20 of my firend watching you for the first flight, good luck son

Mine is 3,5 years now, and I sure hope he will take to this as well, that way there will be more time for flying for me as well.

This brings a tear to my eye. It's wonderful your son wants to do what dad does. My kids couldn't care less about computers or helis. I'm just dumb ol' dad to my kids. But I love them, and nothing can change that.

You're a lucky man, sir.

Oh, and Enzo, wonderful skills, great flying. You are the man, young man.

I was smiling the whole time and still continue to smile. that was awesome. having a little one my self I know exactly how you feel. the funny part is they, the kids, have no idea why we get all happy and excited when they do the little things. to them there just having fun, only the proud papa's know exactly why.

Default Thx for the support!

I showed this thread to Enzo and what did he do.... Jumped right back on the sim!

He inspired alot of pilots at our field that day. Pushed even me to attempt things outside my comfort zone.

I remember when I started and all the excitement I felt. I'm glad I could relive it through Enzo. I hope all of you in my position get to experience this with your kids.

And yes, that was ALOT of pressure for him at the field. For any of us at that stage. He handled it great! Alot of my buddies think he's progessing quickly because he does not deal with the $$ side of the hobby. I just make sure he understands the steps... Sim 1st. Then mcpx. Then X5.

Great thing is my wife is just as excited for him as me which loosens up the wallet for heli stuff

Heres another shot of my superstar that day. I WILL keep you all posted for sure!
