Default Neon Frame Sets

Does anyone have any experience with the Neon Fusuno frame sets? I have visibility issues and was thinking that the frame set combined with a neon tail would help a bit.

They look cool, but I don't have one. I just painted my stock frame.

After a light sanding with 2000 gt sandpaper and wiped down with alcohol, I just used a white base coat with plastic paint. After 2 coats of white, I lightly sanded and sprayed with 3 light coats of orange plastic paint.

On the next one, I will use some "Bulldog" adhesion promoter that can be purchased at most automotive paint supply houses.

I'm pretty happy with the result, but I know I can do better. And it sure makes the dang chopper easier to see!

I looked at the pics on your profile, it looks very nice! Are you using stock frame screws? I keep stripping the stock screws on my frame from fooling with the belt. I want to replace them with something that will last longer.

Also.. "v2tacobuster", very nice.

dandork20-I use SS non-button head (standard head) socket head cap screws. So if I strip one, there is something to grab with a pair of vise-grips. I buy them from:
http://www.fastener-express.com/metr...ess-steel.aspx

and keep a small inventory on hand. If they look stretched or worn, I replace them.

V2 tacobuster is made from a strip of 1" aluminum secured in the original holes as the CF battery mount. Saved a few batteries. I used a 1/4" drill bit mounted in a vise as a bending die so as not to crack the aluminum. Thanks for the complement!

chronic-I use a Hitec HSG-5084MG tail servo and an el-cheapo Detrum GY48V gyro. I've been planning on upgrading after I found a job. Works good for my style of flying for now. I've only been flying for about a year and I haven't done any inverted or 3D, mostly just Sport flying. I have to run the gyro with the DS switch off due to servo overheating and it holds well in FF but not so good in RF. In fact I may hold off a while on the gyro because I just ordered a Trex 500 EP! And yep, I'm going to paint it orange also.

And thanks for the offer on custom machining. Some day I would like to have a small home shop size cnc vertical mill.

Looks like you have a much better gyro than I have. And I'll see if I can fix the PM thing in the user CP.

2000 grit? Are you sure you don't mean 220? 2000 would be more like lapping compound!

It may have been 1200, but deffinately not 220. Even 500 left grain marks. It was some paper I got at the CF guitar making shop where I used to work and was used for final sanding on the bodies.

Yep it is very fine and loads up quickly. You could probably get away with something more course, but I was trying for the most "polished" finish I could get with what I had on hand.

Come to think of it, the pics in the album are old. That frame has since been crashed and replaced. The one I have now is the same color, but a glossier finish. And if I remember correctly, that frame has a matted clear coat on it.
