Futaba GY401 and the DS switch

Im using a GY410 with HGD digital 202 Carbon Gear BB http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=5193
in the analog mode.
The instructions for the gyro say to use the S9254 if you're going to enable the DS switch on the gyro.

Is this just Futaba advertising? Can you use any digital servo with that gyro and the DS switch enabled?

Its lighter, smaller, and a little slower. Is the gyro gonna burn up the servo motor if in the DS mode?

yes. if you have a digital tail servo flip the switch to Digital Servo, DS.
