Default 3gx v2 3d settings?

Hi all

I took the plunge and have gone to v2 but after upgrading the 3gx on my 550e it felt very spongy and slow, kind of a beginner setup. (Ok for sports flying may be but not 3D) Previously in v1.2 I was just using the pre-configured expert settings from the menu, and this worked fine for me. I have been playing with the settings and increased my roll and flip rates to 85% and turned off the cyclic and collective dampening totally with the hope of sharpening it up a bit. This has made it fly much more positively, but it still doesn’t feel quite as sharp and locked in as v1.2. Does anyone have any settings that they would like to share as I am sure it can be better than i have it.

Appreciated any input

Thanks
Paul

If you set the limits to the max without binding it shouldn't feel spongy.
Make sure you don't have TX expo and cyclic expo both

Thanks for the reply Bad007. I have been at the field testing all day. It's getting closer but I am not really sure really how each control effects flight performance. I was just hoping that there may have been a shortcut to make it fly like 1.2. (expert settings)I will keep tinkering. I did find that the software does not seem to save piro direction (it just reverts to normal) or flight mode. Unless my software is screwed up.*

With 1.2 the difference with expert and beginner was just how much expo there was in the software, expert had higher control rates mostly on the tail. Control rates speed up responce and the bell and hiller for cyclic crispness, like bell 80 hiller 30 for real soft and hiller 60 bell 50 for crisp fast cyclic.
With 2.0 control rates higher will make cyclic responce fast. Now flight condition replaces bell and hiller, lower more direct feel and higher smoother more docile. Then you have cyclic acceleration to be raised for real fast cyclic manuvers.

Thank you for the explanation, it's starting to make sense now. Another question, what is the diffrence between dampening and acceleration? The terms seem to contradict one another. To speed things up a little which one would you use, or would you use both and speed up acceleration a little, and lower the dampening accordingly.
Many thanks
Paul.

Sinse 2.0 is still young I think dampen may stop ossulations on hard stops like the old stop locks so in your case just leave it at defaults for now and use cyclic acceleration. Not really sure about dampening, I left all mine at defaults and just used acceleration

Thanks for all your help so far. It will probably be next weekend before I get a chance to play again but you have helped me understand the 3gx unit a little more. Appreciate it. Paul.
