Hi,

Out of the box ball links are 'sitting' on linkage balls very tight.
Here is my way to losen them.

I've used following polishing paste for years:

Loctite #39561 ( Loctite® Clover® Silicon Carbide Grease Mix, Grade 5A, Grit 800 )

To be cont.

Thanks Piotr for the info !!!

I saw your method on the Kasama website (building pics of 90 FAIFA) but didn't know the reference of your polish past. Thanks !

When I built my FAIFA Srimok 90e it was the first helicopter where I found myself posing for a while and admiring the pieces I was putting together as work of art.

I even went as far as showing them to my wife. She made believe she was interested

I can see that the Dune continues the wow factor.

Are you sure they are not Swiss watch makers on the team?

Nice work, I can't find the paste number you mention, can you check the number please?

What a freakin' incredible machine. It's amazing to see the quality, and the design.
Gotta love all the vibe dampening. I can't imagine how nicely the Dune flies.

Guess I found my next 600

He guys sorry for bringing back an old thread! I wouldve pmed Piotr but im sure some people would like to know. Not sure if I missed it but Piotr what was that soldering equipment youve used yo melt the solder?
btw your awesome pics are the sole reason im considering saving for oasama..besides the vibe dampening of coarse...ive been always using tape between the frames and supporting bl9cks on my other helis...wish everyone took mr.Ks approach

Hi,

Thanks for bringing an 'old' thread back.
My Dune build has not been finished yet due to cont lack of time . I hope by the end of this year I'll post final pictures, video from maiden flight and finally start to enjoy flying this great heli.

It was long time ago . I found this kind of soldering iron on board vessel I worked on that time:

http://www.amazon.com/300W-SOLDERING...soldering+iron

Attachments (replacement tips) were made of brass by me.
One of them was kind of a pot to melt the solder and to 'sink' the end of the wire in it. Second attachment was made to hold and transfer hit from solder to the E5 bullet connection. Both attachments were inserted into the solder like replacement tips.
Removed original solder tip you can see in right upper corner of the picture.

Today the vessel is history so is my tool.

Nowadays I use regular 100W solder.

Hi,

No more freight ships.
2 years ago I moved to offshore sector.
Dynamic positioning and ROV (Remote Operated Vehicles) deployed from vessels to the sea bed which is pretty close to my heli hobby .

Default Soldering

You definitely had the soldering down to a science!

I always hated soldering and it was very inconsistent. Then I got a butane pen torch and it changed my life!
The other big help was a tin of flux paste, with those two I can conquer the world! :-)

Truly fantastic. I took the greatest of pleasure in looking slowly at the pictures and the build. Such great attention to detail, even in the small things. The swash looks like a Rolex!!

Default Dailed-in now!

After playing around with the settings a bit in the Vortex, changing mounting tape and going back to the 3D style setting, the Dune now flies great! I had a slight tail warble in fast backward flight that seems to be cured by pulling the tail gain down a bit. For the moment I have lime green KBDD 96mm tails. I am very very pleased :-)
