I just got back from the field and it's already filling up and fying is already starting.

Weather is awesome and the new wind sock is hardly moving. We are going to have a blast.
Saturday lunch will be provided to all registered pilots....

Abilene Chopper Madness **** Huge Success ****

Two huge fun packed days at the Abilene Copper Madness event. Just one day left.

We had three real helicopters fly in for the event, all you can eat brisket provided for the pilots and many prizes. We had television news coverage from several news stations and hundreds of spectators. Here's one clip: http://m.ktxs.com/news/abilene-rc-so...event/29193844

Raymond McFaul takes first place on the Autorotation Contest. Anson Hargrove took second.

Many thanks to all who attended. I know I made a lot of new friends, got to see a lot of you all again and had a wonderful time.

We have a great RC club (Abilene RC Society) and I like to thank all the club members that helped make this event possible. Our RC plane guys helped out in registration, MC, handing out free gifts to the kids and general public while the Heli guys had a blast flying. We all worked together to improve the facilities at SeaBee park so all of us could have a "Fun Fly" and fun was had by all.

We had one of our very own Abilene RC Society talented 3D plane pilot perform our noon demo, Dominic Grasso. He really put on a show! He's also starting to fly Heli's, and from watching him fly his 450 Dominator, he will be one to watch for 3D Heli flying.
