Kevin (fireup) also saw the opportunity to improve upon the stock battery mount and produced this concept from carbon-fiber as an additional nose-cone design, which is a great idea as well. Due to the time-lines in reaching full production for AL 6061-T6 CNC material, I could not get this to market as fast, so it may appear his idea was "copied".

This is not the case and I support his brand as well (I have his frame supports on my TREX 500), so this is an occurrence where "Great Minds Think Alike". The debate between carbon or aluminum will always be in the RC Helicopter world, so we are both producing upgrades targeted at slightly different markets and personalities. Due to the limitations of the design space in the RC helicopter market, these types of similar upgrade concepts will commonly occur as it already does with other competing brands (such as Kasama, Microheli, etc.).
I had a similar thing happen with me.... I was accused of stealing a mod... I do like your attitude that 'great minds think alike' .... well said.

Sorry, maybe I was a bit rude with my question. Its just that it bothers me when I see things like the Spartan gyro clones. As a software developer I appreciate the frustration when someone's hard work is ripped off. People think they're getting a good deal buying that stuff but really they're just taking the rewards away from those who work hard to make this hobby better and do more harm to it in the long term.

Clearly Kegerator has given a valid answer and thinking about it, he must have had his product under development for quite some time, since these sort of things can't be designed and put into production overnight. All the best.

I'm not sure it does do harm in the long term. I appreciate the fairness argument, but I think it puts pressure on those who do develop new stuff to keep developing new stuff to regain the market.

Default Metal tail and head upgrades

Hey all,
New to the hobby. Bought a 450S CF kit. Love it! I have the plastic tail, swash, flybar control, washout arms etc. Looking to eventually upgrade to metal. But when I look online there seems to be a huge price gap between upgrade kits. I've seen them as low as $20 all the way up to about $60. Some of them seem to be from copterX. But they say they are compatible only with Trex 450 xl and SE. Will these work with my TRex 450S? And does anyone know a reason NOT to get the less expensive parts?
This is thinking a ways out because I'm still getting basic flight down.
Also, if this is the wrong forum, I apologize.

i think i have the same kit if you need to get stock parts make sure its for the se v1
idont think there is much difference in the s or se v1 there is improvements between the v1 and v2 models that arent compatible like with the rotor head. the main shaft is the same though..

Acually, the stronger battery mounts and gyro mounts came from my shop first based on requests from fliers who had used my other Lexan parts. We all use different materials and techniques to upgrade the heli and have all been friends over the years.

You should make a crash proof headblock, I tend to break it every 2 crashes which brings me to 3 headblocks already

Default New Upgrades for the TREX 450Pro Available from KDE Direct!

I love your products and I always try to buy at least 100 bucks worth of stuff but man-o-man, when I can't do it your shipping costs are ridiculous. 9 bucks to ship a tiny head block....ouch...funny thing is that I like your products so much I did it anyway...lol.
