Default Anyone have experience with orange rx?

I have a few of these laying around for my futaba and just installed 2 for a 400 and 450. Haven't used them much. Just wondering if anyone has used them for a while? Good or bad?

A few guys at my field have lost heli's and planes to them. I would stay far far away. Not worth it.

It's Chinese clone stuff. That being said, many people are using them without any issues.
I'd suggest:
1, get from new stock
2, don't put it on an expensive craft.

Look at the price compared to the entire craft. If it's a cheap beater clone you're putting it on, why not. However if you've got a 500+ dollar machine and you're wanting to save 50 bucks or so, you may want to reconsider. It would suck to have a problem with that one part you got a "great" deal on.

if you need to save some bucks, check out the classifieds here. Plenty of people selling the spektrum 6100 rx's

Work great. Have one on 250. Using in 3 planes and using orange sats on my 550e with 3GX. No issues. Great product and you can't beat the prices.

Not worth the risk IMHO. Some people have great luck and others have lost some expensive birds.

I have two, both of which are installed on my foamies. For the 450 heli and the nicer planes, I use the real thing. Never had any issue with the Orange receivers, but why risk it?

So either they work or they don't work? Was going to use on my 400/450 just to practice. I have like 2 more I think

With much of that kind of stuff, QA is the problem. It is luck of the draw. On a foam plane or perhaps a clone 450, sure, try it.

You see more people on this forum with Spektrum RX failures than Orange failures.

Wouldn't worry too much about it.

I haven't had an issue with them. I only use them on a lot of foamies(Planks) due to the fact that helis are more dangerous and more likely to encounter an issue. To me, it is not worth throwing a cheap part on a heli that can potentially cause a lot of damage/injury. Remember that cheap isn't always good.

I ues them with my Spektrum DX7 and never had any kind of issues with them .
I find them to be as good as the Spektrum Rx's
2 x Trex 450's
1 x Trex 500
1 x 3DHobbyShop 48" Edge 540 .

I just put one on my new Twisted Hobbys Edge 540 3D foamy and haven't had any issues with it yet... It (the plane) is small, light, and soft enough that if it decides to fly away, it's not going to hurt much. (person, place, or wallet) I'm not sure if I would personally use it on something more expensive or more dangerous though.

I use 3 of the 4 ch Orange Rx on small planes and foamies with never a problem . I have two of the larger 6 ch versions on .30 size helis , again no issues . I use genuine spektrum rxs on 3 birds also with no issues . A friend lost control over a top of the line FBL heli with all top line electronics today and has no idea why . Almost a total loss .

Ive always heard that stuff from Horizon Hobby can be over priced, including Blade and Spektrum (maybe not so much spektrum) but it does make you wonder....an AR6115 costs $50 and orange costs $10....is the difference in price quality or marketing? Maybe a little of both?
