Default Servo Grommets?

Do people use them on the 550? I didn't on my 500 but the instruction indicate that they are intended to be used. Just wondering what most of you do.

I'd bet if this was a poll it would show that the majority of 550 owners use them but there are those that don't and have no issues.

I used them per the manual.

Only used them on the elevator servo to get the link geometry at 90.

Why would you not want them? The only heli I ever did not use them was a 450.

I used mine because it indicated that they should be used in the manual - I'd be interested to know why people didn't use them as well.

I have just done some work on my 550FBL today. I bought it secondhand 6 months ago along with secondhand Align servos. Taking into consideration that I am newbie to Helis, I fitted them as they came. Today I found out they do NOT have rubber grommets fitted. I have been chucking the 550FBL around like crazy learning some 3D moves and had several mishaps. BUT, the missing grommets have NOT caused ANY problems and In shall continue to fly it like that.

You may be right, but is it a hassle to use them?
Surely there's more chance of them providing some benefit, than them being detrimental - considering that, and following the manual, I have used them on all the servos.

I don't think there is any reason not to use them. They should protect the servo more & make it last longer. If i didn't use them it would be because they were causing a issue. Im considering removing them & adding extra frame bracing to that area. If i could get away with leaving them on then i would.

makes the servos wobble around in hard 3d. at least, thats with the brass tubes in them too.. if youre not using the tubes, no point of using the rubbers.
