Default Pinion upside down?

Hello all, Finished my first t-rex build last week (the 450 se) and then had to go out of town. Just got back and was installing the motor and pinion and noticed that my pinions, (both the 11 and 13 supplied with the kit) appear to only fit upside down..By that I mean the grub screw in the gear is on the top and I have to put it way up on the motor shaft to get the main gear to miss the screw..any one else encountered this issue..do I just drill it so it goes on the other way? Any advice is appreciated

????

I thought the pinions that come with the heli only work one way?? Aren't they thinner at the top and thicker at the bottom??

I think you got bad pinions, some may have been misdrilled. The grub screw should be on the thick end which goes on the bottom.

Sounds like it's not going on the shaft far enough. I had to really mash mine on with my thumb as it was pretty tight. The grub screw is definitely towards the motor.

Maybe try heating the pinion a bit to get it to expand before you put it on.

Yea I had the same problem....called the LHS to be certain I was not missing something......ended up needing a light tap w/small hammer. If that fails....ream it out with a very similar sized drill bit ....ie one that fits in the pinion w/o much pressure...
