Question Torq servos

I just placed an order for Torq brand servos for my yet to be ordered 700 competition. It dawned on me that I did not see servo arms in any of the pictures. Do they come with servo arms and if not, are they Futaba style or what? Heli Direct is not open on the weekends. Again, if they do not come the arms, any suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks

They come with arms but usually guys use the carbon arms from sab or mikado which is what I use, or sea craft. The torq arms are big and ugly

And yes futaba spine.

I still use the torq 4 legged servo horns that I easily mod down to a single on all my 600 up birds. I prefer these over the seacraft and sab versions. Especially for the money and the fact the servo arms do have some flex in them if you get into trouble. Saves the servo gears. For $4 for sets? Hard to go wrong. Most the guys I fly with use these also.

I use the Secraft - just remember to use 17mm for the tail horn.

Almost a well kept secret, Torq brushless servos started last year in my 570. Easily 300 flights now, 6 good crashes ? No slop, no noises, no nothing !! Amazing servos.

Also 17mm
The manual says "The linkage ball must be positioned between 17-19 mm".

Below is my order in Jan 2013, but of course the 1 X 15mm was replaced with a 17mm.

3 | SCRSAV117M2 | Secraft Servo Arm V1 17mm | 01/28/2013 | Brand: Futaba
1 | SCRSAV115M2 | Secraft Servo Arm V1 15mm | 01/28/2013 | Brand: Futaba

I ran the Secraft on three of mine for two seasons, played with the servo ball spacing, from 17 up to 21 trying to get better gyro numbers. They are def prettier, no doubt. I can't find any difference in flights between them and my plastic arms. There is a vast difference in how they crash. I had both the early and late Secraft arms, both stressed my gears. The plastics either snap in half and or strip the plastic arm teeth. But they flex under hard landings such as autos and whatnot, where I always bent my Secrafts doing the same thing, leaving a rough patch in my servo gears before they 'sacrificed' themselves! So the plastics are better at saving the gears, and at a fraction of the cost. On my 800s, the Secrafts could bend in flight btw!

Now this some useful advice. I do love the looks, red arms with the red torq servo, BUT, I would rather replace an arm than a gear set.

Yes the secraft are nice looking but I am having second thoughts since my friend had some "weirdness" happening to his 700 with secraft arms.

Looking at the setup we noticed that the swash was not levelled at zero. We thought first that something happened in the FBL setting since he did some adjustment to them the night before, till we noticed that one of the secraft was bent slightly.

He is a 3D flyer but not hard 3D. The helicopter is pretty new with about 20 flights and no hard landing on them.

I am giving the secraft arms benefit of the doubt that it could be in transport but I will keep a closer look at them in the futur.

You need the removal tool to get them off.

Yep, the first time I bent a couple arms, I bought the removal tool that very day. I still run a couple on my tail servos. And run their larger washers also, but man those little buggers are pricey. So cool looking though

On the Goblin, it's not too bad to use the removal tool, but depending on the heli, it can be too much of a fuss.
