Apparently i'm not the only one with this idea, I was on my way to post here for the new 180cfx.
The main shaft is the same diameter so maybe the existing DFC head set will fit? Definitely would need some other upgrades though. Start with the swashplate then move to the tail. Can't forget carbon fiber blades. Oooo, and a stretch kit for true 180.

Have to say that I am disappointed ! I was expecting a 180 main bladed heli, not a 150 ! Very poor show from Blade. Long live the Lynx stretch !
I just hope that Oxy do a proper job, and release a 180 soon ! |

I haven't been following the blade release of this heli and I'm really surprised to read this comment that it's a 150mm blade heli, even tho it's called a 180? I wish heli manufacturers would get hint that the align way of sizing heli's isn't cool anymore seems we were on a roll getting heli's to match their blade sizes, so why oh why blade?

That would make the 130x a 160 then? 325mm diameter vs 360mm on the 180cfx.
Eflite names or in that past has always named their helicopters based on the motor size. . 450x used a 440 motor, 300x a 320. I'm quite sure the actual number is useless as it applies to brushless, I believe they name the mtoros off the equivalent brushed motor size. Old school ways in new school helis.

The size is what it is... time to look at the new 180CFX and see where the performance is at (note that it now is a cooler running outrunner and there are rotary servos present). Getting the gang together and fly some first and figure what to improve on next!

personally I belive 180 is a great heli. I watch 100 times the video and I made screen pics to understand about it. I really belive will fly really well from the box. look they grow the 130x adding some new features to made it stronger and relaible. about the size. now I thinks is just a number but in effect I dont undertand why 130 have 135 mm blade and 180 have 160.. that made me think. but the power system. main gear and tail shaft and gear look on picture really strong compare 130. I eared the tail sound on the video and the tail dont have vibes apparantly and also madebthe good sound of air load.. telling me that have good lock for sure.. now we just need wait fews more week to get one or more for sure.. I already prepared my action list.. I got 3 new cnc machine in prevision of Oxy and I will also use for the 180x... I thinks will be fun.. lets the game beguin..I cannot wait.. I am exhited.. I like moments like this one so much..

I love it! It's awesome to watch Luca taking the heli world by storm!
I agree that the 180 looks really good on paper and in the vids. I can't wait to see where this goes.

3s micro is boring now, yesterday's news, we already did that with the 130, let's go 4S! I'll start rigging up a series connector now for 2 2s lipos Just need a suitable motor, I wonder who could make one of those...

Do you think we could rewind an 1102 for 4s? I'm not sure if it'll bolt up to the 180 anyway... but if we wound the 1102 with 10 turns instead of 8 I *think* it would lower the KV to around 4640 instead of 5800....then it'd be in the right range for 4S operation. I'm not sure what size wire would be needed to get 10 wraps in though, it's gonna be tiny and fragile, the 30awg is bad enough.

Just looking at the pics, I'm 99% sure the 130 bolt pattern wouldn't work, but I like the way you think.

If the 180CFX motor has bearing issues like the 300x all the better for a 4s lynx motor. Not that I want any issues...just saying

I hope it doesn't have any major issues, would be nice to upgrade just for fun rather than necessity.

looks like a really neat little heli. the gears look beefy. I thought I saw some wobbles in the videos, maybe the CG is off.
I'm having a tough time visualizing how small the 180CFX is. I had a 300CFX for a short time and it looks so similar.
