Well was a good day for flying. To good. Being so nice out I pushed (for my style) the 300 and 450 and dumb thumbed with both. Both need repairs but nothing super bad. Just booms and minor parts. Lynx CF frames are "A" OK. Rebuilding my 450 standard length ( have ton of spare parts for standard length) . 300 I have a few minor parts to order.
SAM? Well he holds up his rep as a great flier. All went great with him. Last edited by RichKnapp; 07-10-2014 at 07:29 PM.. |

Had a great time. Mack Knapp had CNE issues with canopy rubber band so couldn't put that up. He flew his Arbitraus maiden and flew it great. Take offs and landings were stop on for a Biplane.
I had 450X pushrod snap on spool up so that didn't go up. 300X flew great. I did bust the tail fin landing. I had a thumb twitch and bail the first landing attempt but broke the fin. Re-try was a smooth l...anding finless. SAM, well flight was great, no stability used, windy, great, but landing I hit TH instead of stability high to compensate for my first windy landing and became my first auto. Fail. Landed flat but broke tail fin, battery tray skid mount and the Lynx Heli Innovations skid mounts spread out buy the CF struts have NO damage. |

Flew my 300 with the Lynx CF stretch boom and no supports. Flew great but have to find the best CG now. Think I was a little off. Vid coming soon.
Thoughts? Seems to be fly lighter. I need to get used to that. Tail response wasn't squishy like the boom was flexing on my piro's. . I like it. |

2 packs threw my 300XL DFC today in wind and heavy gusts.
No boom braces. Just the Lynx HD CF boom. Handled no different and NO flexing to it with the benefit of a lighter tail so I could move my lipo back. |

Well it happened. I was waiting for this.
Had a Dumb Thumb with my 300CF DFC and stripped the stocker plastic servo gears. This was my last set of spare gears (wanted to use them up) so now it's time to put some metal gear servos in. Not much outside flying left here if any, so I'll just ground it until Dec. when I will be putting in a order for my OXY 3 electronics. I have the 130X, X3 and 550X to fly the rest of season if weather permits. |

Update what servos you choose, I have Kst 113 now and hope they fly well but they may be too slow for my type of flying...I have a fully modded 300x and I think an ikon will make it really nice....

Leaning hard to the 215's. I have the knockoffs on my X3 and like them, and both use the same gear sets also so ether would be good.

They are really nice but also little pigs at 22g, not ideal for a 300 but I think they might fit the bill with the HS to back it up

My LYNX 275 log (Fully Lynx build stretched 300X )
This is totally subjective and probably not necessary but if it were me I would probably get some of the new Kst 315 which have more torque at the expense of a little speed and use the existing 215s on the 300x.....again that's just me so let us know what you decide. It's the same cost at $25 a pop but may be a bit more suited for 360mm

I need to go to the KTS site. I never heard of the 2 you listed. I just seen the ones listed at HeliDirect.
I just run 350's on the X3 |

aloft is the cheapest and best place to get most Kst servos Here are the 315 at banggood http://m.banggood.com/KST-DS315MG-45...-p-929940.html Look over in the x3 forums, there is a thread about them... These are the 113 again cheap as chips hopefully they aren't too too bad http://www.alofthobbies.com/kst-ds113mg-servo.html If I run them at 6v .11 sec isn't too bad and torque isn't an issue, I'll ramp up dual rates and crank agility settings (if ikon has any)
