Default Question on HC3SX and GV-1

If I don't use traditional RX, only satellites with HC3SX,
  1. can I use output 2 to GV-1's AUX to turn governor on/off?
  2. where do I connect GV1 AUX rpm to? this should be tied to flight mode switch
Thx.

Default If you're not using a receiver

The I think you can only have 2 channels assigned to the gv-1 by HC. The first one will be throttle, and the second one will be your RPM. If you use a seperate receiver, then you and plug the throttle into the receiver and in the case of a 3 channel receiver use the HC for rpm and on/off. In the case of an 8 channel receiver just plug in the gv-1 to the respective channels that you want to use.

The HC channels are programmable from the RC page. Ports go like this:

First one, programming cable
second one, sbus cable
third one, any channel you want, programmable
4th one and only the signal line (no power + or -), any other channel you want.

Hope this helps.

if only satellites:
  • hc3sx 3rd connection is throttle output which goes to gv1 throttle input, gv1 throttle output goes to throttle servo.
  • 4th connection is output 2 (no power), so here I can select either to turn gv1 on/off, or tied to a 3-position switch (flight mode), goes to gv1 AUX rpm to control which 3 rpms to select, correct? So either have on/off, or rpm select, not both.
what about the "battery/head 4", is that programmable also?

Default No sorry

Not that I know of. That battery/servo 4 is where I plug in my Jewel generator to feed power into the entire system.

I'm using HC3SX and use aux 2 port on my mongoose to switch gov mode on and off. I have mine set up on a 3 position switch. position 0 off, position 1 1340 rpm and position 2 1450 rpm.

That's a good idea! Pos 0 for off. How do you program it to do that? and I guess, you'll have to split the signal wire from output2, to go to both gv1 on/off, and rpm?

Raja - When you are referring to "a 3 channel rx" are you talking about such as a Futaba 6203SB?

I has a similar question but would like to know how to go about setting up a GV-1 or 701 to a 6203SB and HC3-SX. I could use an 8 channel Sbus Rx but prefer the tiny little 6203SB if possible.

Thanks!

Josh

Raja-

Are you referring to a 3 channel Rx such as a futaba 6203SB?

I have a similar question in hooking up a gy701 to an HC3-SX with a 6203SB. I prefer to use it over the larger servo bus Rx because it only has 4 (including SBus) vs 8 plus SBus. Much smaller to install.

How would such a setup work? Anyone using this Rx combo?

Josh

Also - is the voltage jumper required for HC3-SX/701 or GV-1 combo with Stator gator?

Default Yes 6203SB

4 ports on that receiver:

aileron goes to switch lead from battery
elevator goes to voltmagic battery monitor
throttle goes to gv-1 throttle input
sbus cable goes to HC3SX 2nd slot
HC3SX 3rd slot programmed as rpm channel 8 and matched to flight mode switch
HC3SX 4th slot (signal only) programmed as channel 5 for gv-1 on/off.

I believe you will need a jumper for the gy701 but not so for the gv-1. I'm using the gv-1 myself.

And yes, if you have no on/off signal for the gv-1 then you can set 1 speed to less than 1000 rpms (generally in normal mode people do this) and then the gv-1 will be off in that position.

Are you using a futaba TX/Rx also, Raja?
