Default Custom Flying Fields made easy

Hey folks,

Thanks to some great work done by HeliMix and some webspace provided by Floop we (I am stealing some of their credit here) came up with a phoenix website. This will make it much easier to collect and learn how to install the custom flying field you guys see us flying on during our online sessions. Take a look see and tell us what you think. Thanks again Helimix and floop.

This is going to become much easier when they release the new PhoenixCreator with the ability to create new flying sites.

I hear that the new scenery creator will still need you to start with a panorama. Creating the panorama in the first place is the hard part, converting one to a format Phoenix can use is easy. Don't expect a flood of new sceneries when it comes out - making a panorama is a lot of work.

Well done guys for making this page a reality, its fantastic work.

Andy

Excellent scenery and I like the ground reference points on the street and inside the buidlings. This gives me a better reference for hovering.

How are the limits or obstacles in the scenes set? I noticed on one that I can fly for a considerble time through the hedge before the distant heli hits something.

They are built around a stock flying field with basically no objects.

Don't start the excuses now Frog. I suggest you get busy on making some new scenes... NOW!

And from now until Chevy is back in the air, it is no longer Chevy's fault. All blame will fall on Capi's lap until further notice.

Oh I have an excuse. Last time I took my camera to the field it started playing up, the CCD has gone. I'm waiting to get it back from Canon and then away I go!

An HF neckstrap also helps enhance the experience.

Red face The custom sites dont show up in 2 beta

After upgrading to phoenix-sim 2 beta, the custom sites do not appear. I like many of them very much. Any fix yet?

No fix yet. Seems that the files may need to be updated. We will keep you posted.

Also, matchmaker ffor joining online sessions does not seem to be working with the Beta yet either.
