Intergalactic,

I actually built one but, it turned out small (about the size of a MCPX ). I still use it but it doesn't cover the battery at all. Are you sure the size of the file you posted was what you printed?

Thanks

Mike

I'm not sure why yours was too small, but I will try to fix it

Thanks for the feedback!

Just printed one and put it together myself.

Wow, it is WAY too small!!
I don't know why that happened, I will fix it as soon as I can.

Bummer. I ran through my batch of canopies - tired of wasting money on tissue paper Blade canopies.

Is anyone still interested in DIY Canopies for the BL?

BELOW a was from a Trex design scaled for nano, mcpx and BL

I use backlight film to print out my canopies. Lighter than fiberglass but super durable.

Hey Mugen2008,
Very cool canopies! What type of printer you use to print backlight film? Where can I get it?
Thanks for sharing the awesome work!!

Hi Leority.
Thanks for the compliment. I'm using an HP Officejet printer. I had this roll of backlight film from when we used to have a plotter in the office. https://h10057.www1.hp.com/ecomcat/h.../99/CR662A.htm
I cut it down to letter sized sheets. Looked around for this material in standard sized but not available. Alternatively, I've used inkjet transparency pages, printing the reversed image then spraying white over the ink. The ink receiving layer on the transparency also holds the spray paint very well. The transparency material is also light and durable. Probably lighter than the backlight film, only a little less durable.
I don't use tabs on the sections. Careful cutting and directly taping edges using 3M reinforced packing tape.

Here's two that I used transparency sheets. For mCPX V2. One with chrome spray paint and one with white.
