So, tell me why a CNC machined piece of aluminum motormount on a vigor only costs $5 more than a molded crowngear made of nylon (edit, sorry was tounge tied. grr)?

The CNC process removes material to produce the part and therfore creates scrap aluminun. The molded part has no scrap. :wink:

I meant to say nylon crown gear not aluminum. It would seem to me that a molded nylon gear should not be anywhere near the price of the machined motormount. By the looks of it, the motor mount would take about an hour on a fast cnc machine to make, there are a lot of machined surfaces on that puppy, so I wouold think it is well worth the $40. But the crown gear should be more like 6-10$.

Sheesh, they are really getting to our pockets!

THE TEETH ARE MACHINED ON THE CROWN GEAR,A PROCESS THAT INCREASES COST BUT MAKES THE GEAR MORE ACCURATE.

Man, you ought to know at least some of the JR secrets by now....this one being the fact that almost everytime you crash a CS, you are going to eat that crown gear. Very seldom will you damage or even scratch that motor mount, so let's see...we charge 33 bucks for a CNC motor mount that never gets damaged and 10 for an old nylon crown gear that is a replacement candidate on the way to the flying field. A little math and joila! Crown gear is now $33 and the motor mount is a dollar two ninety eight. After being a JR person for several years, that makes almost perfect sense to me.
