Default 130X tail on MCPX

My MCPX's tail motor eventually has got to go.
I saw the concentric/non concentric threads, but what about a 130X tail on an MCPX?
Or is a motorless tail on a sub micro pointless, like the auto rotation parts?

It would be hard to get the torque tube through the elevator servo for starters.

Could that whole assembly be replaced with the 130x's?

I can't see how without turning your mcpx into a 130x. Not only do you need to get the torque tube through the mcpx servo, you need to add a gear onto the main shaft to drive the torque tube. Then a servo to manage the pitch of the tail blades, etc., etc., etc.

Maybe it's time to get yourself a 130x. They are fiddly but fly great. Not as forgiving in crashes though.

Default 130X tail on MCPX

How about a variable pitch tail?

(One of my favorite mod threads for the sheer insanity)

Probably not a good idea, but if you want an insane project, who knows what is possible!

Not bad Code!!!
My ultimate objective is to do away with the motor on the tail all together...w/o buying a 130X.

Cheaper to just go buy a stock or partially blinged out used 130x

The 130X has alot of issues with it's TT tail, so getting it on an even smaller mcpx isn't such a good idea...
If you really wanted to do something cool you could make a motor driven variable pitch tail, but you're in for some crazy modding.
You can get damn good tail hold if you go double brushless, or if you get the M5 11000kv motor with stock or 7mm tail it should hold fine. On stock main motor though you can't really get it to be all that good.

So I was researching the Walkera 4g6 and noticed it wasn't much bigger than a mcpx-aside from the fact it's brushless, and has a flybar-and they have a shaft drive tail on that lil bird.

I'm thinkin of mounting a brushless tail motor horizontally and running a mini belt to a variable pitch tail....
....perhaps I should just build my own heli and leave my freakin mcpx alone.

That has been done too:

(my second favorite mod thread.. )

If you can dream it with the mCPX, it has been done. Such a popular and versatile bird.

....and that tail motor is vertical running a TT
I'm thinking belt, vertical mount brushless with gear reduction to a 120 tail.
???
