Default Vbar swash travel setup

Hello
Vbar newbie here...
Got a nice gaui x5 with the bar mini installed and after going through the setup I found that the mechanical travel allows for 13 deg negative pitch and 11 deg positive.
Is there any way to modify the pitch travel for both to get +/-12 pitch?
The descr. In the software is contradictory saying you can adjust servo travel to compensate this, but then I will not have the travels set up correctly in the software at 100?
Mechanically the rods are out of thread so this normal way to "fix" in not an option.
Thanks

For that small a difference I equal it out using the Pitch travel adjust in the radio. If you want say 12* of pitch I would set the low side to 12* and use the travel adjust to drop the high side down to match it.
I've been doing it this way forever and it's perfectly acceptable for small differences. No need to worry about the travels not being -100/+100 in the tx tab once you get to this point.

Collective pitch is simply an offset for the control loop. It's not a part of the control loop other than that.

FYI, the NEO setup allows you to set positive and negative collective separately.

Thanks for the tips, thought it makes a major difference for the mini vbar not having both travels at 100. Will give it a try and report back

Use the slider to set the top pitch max collective, then lower the stick and raise or lower the endpoints on the low side to get the two to match. Do this all with a pitch gauge on.....Ron
***For the NEO this is unnecessary as The Bum said*****

If you are running 5.3, it may be starting in demo mode showing all options, but after you plug in your VBar some of those options, like governor, disappear unless you have the Pro firmware installed.

Because you do not have the pro software...or you don't have the governor turned on..

I ve seen a note in gaui websute showing how to get the pro for free, but couldnt figure out the steps to take. Anyway, managed to get the swash reading 0 pitch on both blades at 9 o'clock but oddly when each blade is at 3 o' clock I get -2 deg pitch. What can be wrong here? So on left side of the heli its ok on the right side I'm on minus pitch for same 0 pitch value

Swash not level would be my guess. Get 0 pitch first at all clock positions mechanically first.

Any good tips for centering the swash prior to playing with it in vbar? I have to admit getting the swash centered (not leveling it) is one of the most challenging things for me. I also have to admit I get annoyed having to adjust my travels on the radio.

Well, you have to use the VBar software to level it, so you'll be leveling the swash while you play with it in the VBar.

As for swash leveling, I have to give a shout out to Rick Lohr and his swash leveling zip tools. I use them on all my helis.

Just to be clear, leveling is EASY.

Centering to equalize travels (negative and positive) without having to resort to radio settings that limit travel is time consuming, and well...really a PITA.

Guys, finally flew my new (used )gaui x5 and felt quite "mushy"
I am used to the Tarot zyx which is much cheaper but has a lot of options. Since I am new to the Vbar closed environment so to speak, can someone tell me why before connecting my vbar my screen is full of options like normal and after I am connected almost all options vanish. How can I setup agility for example in these conditions?
Thanks

To reiterate what was said earlier, you need the Pro firmware to get all the options. You can increase agility using dual rates on the aileron and elevator channels with the Express firmware that you have.

The seller of my x5 praised the flight characteristics if the vbar compared to other fbl controllers but he never mentioned that it is "crippled" on settings. It was my mistake for not checking what vbar is all about. Tx for clearing this out

the vbar is by far the best flying unit on the planet IMHO. however, as stated by 2 previous posters, you need to load the PRO software on the unit to get all of those parameters.

If your Heli is "mushy", pro parameters is not going to fix it. There is something else going on..

By "mushy" I mean that is a bit hesitant into following my sticks. Could vibration be an issue? Everybody is praising the x5+ vbar combo, so my expectations were quite high
