Default Cheaper or Rare Heli Parts & Tools Source!

Hey guys:

Wanted to share something with you. I never posted anything, only searched; may be this will help you.

There is a chinese version of EBAY called TAOBAO.COM and sometimes you can buy some rare stuff there instead of searching for hours over the net.

Anyway, for example:

1. I wanted to purchase a TSUBAKI Sprag Bearing for my Avant and it is really tough to find. Anyway, I searched the part, BB15-1K-K, on TAOBAO and there it is!

2. I wanted to purchase Locktite 638 in USA and a ****ing 50ml bottle cost over $50 in USA, so I bought it from TAOBAO for $13; same brand, same quality, unbelievable!

But there is a trick! You have to go through an agent to purchase items from TAOBAO for a fee, fraction of the cost of course! YOYBUY.COM is the agent for TAOBAO.

Just enter the TAOBAO item URL on YOYBUY and it will let you purchase if it is a legible item. I am not an agent or sales person.

Again:
Main Item search and details URL: http://taobao.com
Purchasing agent site url: http://yoybuy.com

Enjoy!

You know the first place I'd like to spend my money? Chinese eBay knockoff with weird purchasing methods! I can't see how that could ever go wrong!

To be fair, taobao is definitely not a knockoff of anything. It is the biggest P2P website in China that billions of transactions are going through. It provides very good buyer protection, even better than eBay and PayPal in my personal experience. But it is very much targeted to Chinese market only. So it will be quite challenge to order from outside of China.

There was a post here a few months back and the OP said he was going to China and wanted to buy parts. Someone mentioned getting one of his Chinese friends with a TAOBAO account to purchase.

I wonder how he made out.

There are legit websites that offer taobao shopping from outside of Mainland China with reasonable fee (like 10% of the purchasing price). I bought several items on http://www.ecward.com/ with good experience. You need to be able to read Chinese to use the website (you need that anyway, if you want to shop on taobao.com)

I'd like to hear from anyone who has actual experience with this method of shopping.

Too much mocking/trolling on the interwebz these days IMHO.

My experience is first hand. Similar as eBay, you need to choose sellers with good feedback.

This was for "rare" parts.

My local hobbyshop only carries parts for Blade micros.

That is MANY orders of magnitude away from carrying rare parts.

I don't use them for anything anymore now that I don't fly micros.
