Default K-Bar software version not supported

Hi everyone,

I bought a K-Bar recently and I couldn't do the setup on it because the version I have is not supported, but it doesn't say which version it does support.

I can't download any other versions of the software anywhere, can someone please help me?

Thanx!!

The makers of the Kbar do not produce software. It's a clone of the Mikado Vbar and you have to use Mikado 'Vstabi' software (I guess you probably know this already).

Mikado recently upgraded their Vstabi software to v6 to support their new Neo and Vcontrol products so it's quite likely that the new software will no longer work with the Kbar clone. You probably need to get hold of the older v5 version of Vstabi.

I recently got a Vbar with a used heli and you had to be logged in to download the software. This required registering at the EU Mikado site (not the US one). That login is used on the Vstabi site. Then I had to request a download link for the software which was emailed. Version 5.3.4 was still available. I don't know if you have to have a unit registered to get the software. Mine was transferred from the previous owner to me.

I've got v5.2 on my PC. This kbar is apparently not compatible with v5. So i'm not sure if I need and older v5 or v4. Its just so stupid that I cant download this anywhere.

I just logged in and Version 4 is available for download in the Archive section at the bottom.

http://www.vstabi.info/en/node/139

The other versions of 5 are also there. That is the link for V4.

V5.3 works with the Kbar

It doesn't cost anything to register to be able to login. If that gets you the software it's the manufacturers choice. If they require a device to be registered to download that is also their decision. I won't download the software for someone though.... sorry.

He will still have to register and do the email download link thing. I don't think there is just a click to download link.

Download links are there and still working. Post #36 of the Kbar thread in RCGroups heli forum.

I see they are being hosted illegally. It is copyrighted software. To each their own. I won't pirate software which pretty much what you have admitted to if you used those links.

FWIW, i have several genuine Vbars. I have software downloaded from Mikado's site after registering.

I admit to using Kbars in the past though, and i dont feel in any way guilty about it to be honest, in fact if not for the Kbar i probably wouldn't have got the Vbars.
Personally I dont see any problem providing download links to software which is in any case freely available, it's not depriving anyone of revenue because it's free. I'd be happy to post links here if not for the policy the mods have around here of issuing warnings on the mention of the 'K-word'. Surprises me this thread hasn't been closed yet!

I have a vbar that I bought with a heli second hand a while back, and did not know at the time that this was needed to download software for it. Can I register this device somehow without the prev owner's details?
