Default Setting pitch in general question.

Hello. I am new to the hobby with experience only with a mCPX so far.
Just got my first self assembly Trex500 and all is going well.
Until now, setting pitch. The shop said they will check it over for me and set it up but i want to do as much as i can.
I bought a swash leveling tool AND a flybar lock, the king that screws into the rotor head and 2 adjustable arms lower onto the flybar.
I have got the swash level and eqaul amounts of -/+ travel set.
Here is my problem.the blades have unequal pitch so i adjust the link/links and then i find the other blade reading is off now! They never seem constant.
I have been doing the setup on a table because it is flat and high off the ground BUT i do not know if it is level, could not being level the issue.I never thought of this before.
I also check the pitch with a gauge at the side of the heli and spin each blade to this side, again is this correct.
Thanks

You will eventually have to track the blades. You may just want to get as close to 0 degrees at 50% stick as you can on both blades and then hover to set the tracking. Not sure what your flying level is, so may want some assistance.

Setting the end points will be a matter of your flying style and ability as well as the motor and ESC capability. If they end up wildly uneven, then there may be further mechanical issues to address...

Thanks for the pointers.
But just to clarify, with flybar locked can i set up on unlevel surface. And is it ok to spin each blade to the same side of heli each time to read gauge?

What kind of pitch gauge do you have?

As long as you are using a mechanical pitch gauge, then sure. You can set the whole thing up standing on your head if you want to. The relationship is between the blade pitch and the flybar. If you are using a digital pitch gauge then there are other requirements.
