???
Are you talking about the wires on the "nice" side being too close to the bell, or the wires on top of the motor being too close to the stator holder?

No I'm referring to the shimming method to get the stator lined up with the magnets (in shaft direction) as HiliFX mentioned.

About 4,5t vs 4+5t I wouldn't know really if there is a performance difference. Never found anything about it. Perhaps someone has a link?

Dekker,

fantastic, thanks for the feedback.

with my current shims and testing the motor performed on spec without issue .
did not noticed any weird tendency, actually ran very smooth from all accounts

referring to the nice side or bottom of the motor / housing.

you have six transition point on the "good side" of the motor which would need clearance from the housing.
It never touched but it was to close for my liking so I added extra shims and used a flash light to view.

wires on the top with YY termination had no clearance problem however since its my first motor I was concern at first that crap I may not be able to fit but it did

there plenty of room on the top.

dekker

I hope my explanation made sense regarding 4.5 T transition.

so with your schematic you have equal numbers in each slot which what ultimately counts.

wanted to do that schematic in the beginning but was getting confused at the time.

if you go to this post on this thread

https://www.helifreak.com/showpost.p...9&postcount=49

user JB has some stats.
His 4025 motor has 4.5T but he did his with long transition.

stolla and JB based on the experience seem to have varying performance difference from what I read.

I'll leave it to those to chime and better express there options and numbers.

finally had some time today to test flight the newly re-wonded 4025 and all I can say is WOW !
no major catastrophe with the motor with load it just worked beautifully.
There's great sense of accomplishment at least for me.
lots of torque and power. You can really feel how effortlessly it can handle certain maneuvers.
great improvement over the stock motor.
I do realize its 8P motor at 6S which does not compare in result with 12N10P .

overall behavior was much smoother and predictable. Motor temp. just warm.

now how to deal with all the request from local guys asking if I rewinded their motors

started work on my second 4025 with 1.7 mm and hopefully get my align 700mx and 600mx completed soon.

need to feed my new addiction

cheers
