Default Mini Cp can you switch to rate mode? I cannot

I am using Devo 7 with my Mini cp and cannot use rate mode. My heli starts blinking green/red with any gyro setting under 50%. Someone mentioned 50% is a test mode. 49% doesnt get the heli out of test mode. My heli spins on every number from 50% on down to 0.5% SO is the mini cp rateless? I currently have my gyro set to manual on the gear switch. I fly in heading hold at 89%. Just would like to fly in rate mode sometime.

I'm not sure that an rc heli with simple motor-driven tail rotor can have rate mode. I would think you'd need to have adjustable pitch that has both left and right thrust. I could be completely wrong though

Mini does not have a rate hold.
51-100 is HH.
0-50 is "test" which shuts off the gyros so you can adjust your linkages without them jumping around.

You can also use "test" to reset your gyro to whatever direction the nose is pointing. I always switch to test and back just before i take off to make sure the gyro knows which way it is supposed to be pointing.
