Hi Gang,

I am likely beating a well talked about horse here but I did a search and did not come up with much. I have an Align 430L in an older 450 SE V2 and I replaced the the stock ESC with a CC Phoenix Edge 50 and was wondering what to set the PWM Rate at the default is 12kHz. I am pretty sure that given my understanding of PWM that should be safe but I ran across a couple of comments saying they were using 8kHz just to safe. Anyone know for sure?

You can try 8kHz if motor runs smoothly, if not change to 12kHZ.
Rule is more kHz will get more smooth but more ESC heat.
From calculation PWM rate should be 12kHz.

Align 430L - 3550KV, 6poles outrunner brushless motor
PWM Rate = KV x Voltage x Poles / 20
= 3550 x 11.1 x 6 / 20
= 11821.5 which is about 12kHz
