Default Blade tracking how to?

Curious how to adjust the blade tracking on a blade 450 3d? Not sure if its a one size fits all kind of deal that any video on youtube can show me or if there's specific instructions for the blade?

Thanks in advance!
Tom

What I do to track the blades is first get zero pitch on both blades at mid stick. Then put a piece of tracking tape or bright tape on one of the blades tips. Hover it at eye level and see which blades is higher, adjust the links accrordingly to make the blades match. You can also spool it up and not take off but it is easier to do it while hovering IMO.

Check out the finless bobs forum. He pretty much explains it perfectly. And with the b450 it is even easier because once you get the more or less Zero pitch at mid stick, there's only one link to adjust. So follow his videos from initial setup on, and then go thought his balance vids. They were very helpful to me.

I always struggle to see the color on one tip or the other.. So I just mark one blade. If tracking is off, I adjust one blade in a direction and check again.

It will either get better or worse, and then I'll know what to do for the final adjustment.

I use a sharpy to make one blade tip black for 1/2". Easy to see because that blade looks shorter.

All correct answers, just remember the blades should be spinning at least 1/3 throttle when you check them, best in flight. When you pop the ball link off try to go in full turns as these plastic joints do have a back and front, it'll probably fit either way but you could be giving it a weak point to break.GB

Awesome you all are much more helpful then the peeps over at rcgroups!

I actually bought a blade balancer and swash leveler (was cheap) and I'll be balancing soon and doing tracking while hovering.

I like to use dry erase markers on the white blades. can mark the blades what ever color to track them, then when done wipe it off.
i also use them to mark the blades when finding CG of the blade.
That way i don't end up with marker all over the blades

I use electrician's tape to balance the blades. Some are quite out of balance. Important step for best performance. Then you can either watch the black tape or put small amount of orange tape on opposite blade about the same location and the black background will make the orange tape show up very easily. Hope this helps.
